Imperial officials have announced that the official state funeral of Empress Jamyl I will take place on Amarr Prime on Sunday, September 20. Officials have stated that security concerns are paramount, the potent shields over the Imperial City have been enhanced. We sincerely hope that these upgrades are strong enough to withstand the damage of combined alpha strike from a Drifter fleet, such as the one that caused the complete and total obliteration of TES Seraph, the Empress’ titan, and her capsule in a matter of seconds.
When asked for a comment regarding the funeral, Max Singularity VI, Pope of New Eden replied briefly, stating ”I did all my grieving for Jamyl ten years ago. There is still no evidence that she is actually dead. The Sixth Empire however, sincerely hopes that this occassion will be unmarred by further Drifter attacks and that Amarr citizens may gain closure to this recent tragic event in safety.”
TMC has also contacted members of the group which held the recent vigil and ritual self-sacrifice in Safizon, but were unavailable for comment at the time of writing. We would like to offer our hopes as well that the funeral is held in a dignified manner unmarred by further tragedy.
