Battle report: Hy Wanto Be The Very Best

Art by Redline XIII

In what can only be described as a rout, Snuffed Out and Fraternity came to blows over Customs Offices in Hakonen just after downtime today.

The Fight

With Fraternity attacking Snuffed-allied POCOs, Tau AD, decided to return the favor with his Revenant. With a sub-capital support fleet of Machariels and assorted other ships, Snuffed set out to destroy Fraternity infrastructure. In response, Fraternity formed a large capital force with a mainline sub-capital fleet of Tempest Fleet Issues.

Getting a Rapier on the grid, Fraternity cyno’d in their capitals in. They also lit multiple backup cynos to ensure they could continue to reinforce their fleet. At the same time, their mainline fleet of Tempest Fleet Issue warped onto the grid. Snuffed Out retaliated by jumping in a small number of capital ships, before immediately reinforcing when Fraternity entered siege. A huge slug-fest ensued, in which Snuffed Out gained the upper hand courtesy of their dreadnoughts and high-grade amulet sets.

With the writing on the wall, Fraternity formed supercarriers and titans, jumping them in and picking off some of the Snuffed Out Dreadnoughts, at this point Snuffed Out extracted from the field, having taken on double their number with over 60% efficiency.

The final tally shows the following:

Fraternity losses – 2 unfortunate POCOs, 34 Revelations, 32 Naglfars, 7 Phoenix, 6 Moros, 3 Force Auxillary, and 39 of the 45 tempest fleet issue with other assorted ships. Totaling over 505 billion isk.

Snuffed Out losses – 31 Revelations, 6 Phoenix, 4 Moros, 1 Naglfar and 11 Force Auxillary and no machariel losses. Totaling 310 Billion.

In the Bigger Picture

Looking at the last week for Fraternity, Noraus was noted to have made a very interesting comment in the coalition’s townhall.

“Snuffed is a bigger threat than goons (to FRT)”

Noarus from their recent townhall.

It seems that Noraus was not wrong, and with this in mind, Noraus has canceled all weekend operations in Delve with PAPI in order to defend their home regions.

“[NUWA] noraus: @全体成员 周五晚的舰队取消, 周六下午六点十五分cta防守kqk ihub”

Noraus – Today, non-translated

“[NUWA] noraus: @All members The fleet canceled on Friday night, Saturday afternoon at 6:15 CTA defends kqk ihub”

Noraus – Today, translated

Will this create further diplomatic issues between Fraternity and the remnants of PAPI in Delve? Does this spell further difficulty for the PAPI coalition in their “end game” assault of Imperium space, lets wait and see, Shall we?

Author’s note—Fraternity does not look like it is having a good day, losing a Charon worth 51 billion in Aurohunen.

If FRT believes Snuff is their greatest existential threat, why were they attacking Snuff POCOs? That’s like Rome saying “Carthage could conceivably destroy us, so let’s boat over there and start irritating them pointlessly.”

    • But Rome did exactly that on multiple occasions.

Metaphors shouldn’t be pushed too far or else the point gets lost in pedantry. And I think my point was clear enough.

Perhaps this thing it was a diversion maneuver gone wrong?
With the whole “Friday night cancelled” but still showing up.

Either that or the very human flaw of wanting to scratch at a rash or pop a zit when you know you absolutely shouldn’t?

For the last couple of weeks FRT lost almost 1T to Snuff. That’s is why Noraus consider them bigger threat (cause it’s happening now) vs. of what they lose in Delve. Will see how ot goes if FRT could manage further escalation alone or they have to ask for extra hand from PAPI. Another point if AoM and other small alliances which been pushed from North could use that opportunity window and harass FRT home region.

Snuffed Out definitely are a tough force to fight. I’ve seen how well they operate on their fleets. They’d even give the imperium a bloody nose for their size. They remind me of Asterix taking on the Romans. It’s a good analogy between Snuffed Out and Fraternity. I think Fraternity keeps picking on the tough nuts and then wonders why they get smashed each time…
