New year, new week in review. News from CCP has been light so far this year, so we took last week off. Things are still pretty light this week, with just a few points to note, but they’re worth mentioning, so let’s jump right in.
Your Year in EVE
The data for the “Your Year in EVE” video has been sent to eligible players. To be eligible, you needed to have existed as a character between December 1st 2019 and December 1st 2020, and not have deleted your character. In order to create your video, you need to have an active Omega subscription. The video controls allow you to select the data points that are most applicable to you.
EVE Online Ecosystem Outlook
CCP released their “Ecosystem Outlook” where they all but admit they way overshot the whole scarcity thing, while stopping short of actually apologizing for it. Check it out if you’re interested in the various numbers related to money making in EVE.
The Second Timer in M2-XFE
A devblog covering the wholesale slaughter in M2-XFE was released covering various aspects of the server load, including the number of players spread across three systems that took place in the engagement. There are a few important points to note from the blog:
- There was no player cap in M2-XFE, as some players had mistakenly reported. The only system with such a cap is Jita.
- There will be no reimbursement to anyone who lost a ship during the engagement. This sticks with CCP’s long term policy of not interfering in battles affected by “weather.” That policy has applied to all sides equally throughout this war and others.
#2021
It begins . . . Let’s all hope it’s a better year than 2020.
