In Placid on July 26, 2015 at 16:45 in Barleguet, Snuffed Out, and their nominal allies in Project.Mayhem, engaged a combined fleet of Shadow Cartel, Dead Terrorists, and Cynosural Field Theory over a Shadow Cartel R64 moon. While Shadow Cartel did manage to save their tower in Barleguet by holding the battle on the Aulbres gate while several Nidhoggurs repped up their POS, the overall ISK war was won by Snuffed Out and Project.Mayhem.

A video from the perspective of a Snuffed Out pilot.

Snuffed Out and Project.Mayhem used a combination of dreadnoughts, 25 combat Archons, Megathron Navy Issues, and armor Tech III cruisers. Shadow Cartel, Dead Terrorists, and Cynosural field Theory used a combination of armor Tech III cruisers, and artillery Macherials. Both sides employed a large wing of armor logistics, primarily Guardians, with Snuffed Out fielding two triage Archons as well. The Snuffed Out/Project.Mayhem fleet was led by D0nnieDark0 of Snuffed Out and the combined fleet of Shadow Cartel, Dead Terrorists, and Cynosural Field Theory was led by W0wbagger of Shadow Cartel.

Starting with an initial close range brawl on the Aulbres gate in Barleguet, Snuffed Out was able to use its dreadnoughts to inflict heavy damage on heavily webbed and target painted targets, allowing them an early lead  in the fighting. However, Shadow Cartel was quick to seize on the relative short range of Snuffed Out’s Megathron Navy Issues, regrouping at range from their initial position to utilize the high alpha damage from their Macherials to volley Snuffed Out and Project.Mayhem Tech IIIs.

After a grueling 86 minutes of back and forth fighting under moderate to heavy time dilation, Snuffed Out and Project.Mayhem withdrew from the field due to difficulty applying damage. Once the dust had settled, the butcher’s bill marked 36 Billion in damages for the combined Shadow Cartel, Dead Terrorists, and Cynosural Field Theory fleet, while Snuffed Out and Project.Mayhem suffered damages to a total of 20 Billion in return. As a side-note here, both WAFFLES. and Brave Collective made an appearance while the fight was in progress. Waffles in particular spent a considerable amount of time fighting the Shadow Cartel Macharials that were operating at range from the main brawl, somewhat complicating the overall amount of ISK that Snuffed Out and Project.Mayhem truly inflicted.

In terms of notable kills, while most of the ships present in this battle cost nearly a billion a piece, perhaps one of the more intriguing fits was the Guardian of Doc holiday478. Combining the newly changed Faction armor plates and a deadspace tank, Doc holiday478’s Guardian was significantly tougher than a normal Guardian, and also much more expensive as well.

TMC has reached out to D0nnieDark0 and W0wbagger for comment via evemail and will update this article with their responses.

UPDATE: W0wbagger has commented on the battle.

“We really enjoyed the fight, bit painful on the isk front and tidi hurt a little but tactically i thought we did well and I was very impressed with all of our pilots – more importantly i think all sides involved enjoyed it – i expect snuff were more interested in the fight than the moon anyway and they certainly won that from an isk POV. Thanks to DT and CFT for the backup, without them it just wouldnt have been possible to take the fight realistically.”
