World War Bee: Week 56

Week 56 of World War Bee was down from week 55, with 12 hostile actions reported. Delve and its environs were home to most of the action.

[Editor’s Note: As the war has reached its anniversary, INN’s tracker is now split between the July 2020 to June 2021 events and July 2021 onwards. The first year’s data remains broken, but the author is tentatively hopeful the Year 2 data will calculate moving forward.]

There was one fight in week 56 that exceeded 20 billion ISK in cumulative losses, outside of the 1DQ1-A/T5ZI-S border skirmish battle report. It was a brutal fight between Fraternity and assorted PAPI allies versus Snuffed Out and other Lowsec allies, totaling 816 billion ISK in losses and covered by INN elsewhere.

The three major theaters are the North (Fountain and the border with Aridia and Cloud Ring as well as western Delve), the South (the rest of Delve, Querious, and Period Basis), and the East (Paragon Soul, Catch, Stain, Immensea, and Esoteria).

THE NORTHERN THEATER

As with some previous weeks, the North has been relatively quiet, although third-party forces have broken through Forsaken Empire’s defenses in Fountain from Cloud Ring and have set iHub timer fights for later this week.

THE EASTERN THEATER

The East was also relatively quiet, except for a handful of Rorqual ambushes and ganks on small gangs.

THE SOUTHERN THEATER

Sunday, the 1DQ1-A/T5ZI-S border skirmish battle report showed that the Imperium killed 21.5 billion ISK for 21.6 billion in losses. Monday, the Imperium’s Delta Sqad made an appearance in NPC Delve to contest a PAPI structure bash as they shot an Astrahus and a Player-Owned Station, with the Imperium killing 4.6 billion ISK for 5.6 billion in losses. The border skirmish battle report showed that the Imperium killed 8.9 billion ISK for 7.1 billion in losses. Tuesday, the border skirmish battle report showed the Imperium killed 20.3 billion ISK for 13.1 billion in losses. Wednesday, the border skirmish had 9.2 billion ISK in kills for the Imperium versus 8.8 billion in losses. Thursday was a bit more exciting as the Imperium killed 18.4 billion ISK for 19.9 billion in losses.

Friday was quite busy as a Goon Nyx miswarped to the T5ZI-S gate in 1DQ1-A and was quickly tackled. As INN’s Elthar Nox reported, pings began to fly fast and furious as both sides ran to the gate. Each side escalated from frigates, to HACs, then the Imperium’s battleships won the day. By the end of the day, the Imperium killed 54 billion ISK and lost 21 billion, but saved the wayward supercarrier. Saturday, the border skirmish battle report showed the Imperium killed 31.2 billion ISK for 20.6 billion in losses.

ELSEWHERE IN NEW EDEN

Midweek, a big fight kicked off in Lowsec between Snuffed Out and Fraternity. As described by INN writer Aneu, Fraternity began shooting Player-Owned Customs Offices owned by Snuffed Out, who then escalated to dreadnoughts. Both sides quickly began to escalate, with Snuffed Out ultimately gaining the upper hand due to their dreadnoughts and high-grade amulet sets. Snuffed Out and their allies killed 505.6 billion ISK for 310.7 billion in losses.

Friday, PAPI forces lost a Hel in Malpais, while Fraternity and friends shot a blue Avatar titan-class ship in Vale of the Silent.

Despite announcements last week that PAPI pilots should begin resubscribing their accounts ahead of a final push over the next few weeks, sporadic reports continue to come in of PAPI titans and supercarriers jumping to NPC Delve and potentially elsewhere. Imperium leadership even pinged photo montages of titans at firesale prices in T5ZI-S from PAPI leadership characters. Was last week’s declaration that PAPI would storm the 1DQ1-A gates a ruse? Or are PAPI forces orchestrating a brilliant deception?
