WORLD WAR BEE: WEEK 17

2020-11-01

Week 17 of World War Bee was busier than Week 16, with 24 hostile actions and 20 fights, per INN’s tracking. Delve and Querious continued to largely dominate the headlines.

The ISK split in the war zone of the Southwest is about the same at 66.2% to 33.8% for the attackers. In theater, the belligerents have lost 39.9 trillion ISK, up about 1.8 trillion week over week, with 354,325 ships lost, up 21 thousand week over week.

Across New Eden, since July 1, the ISK divide is 55.4% to 44.6 for the attackers. The belligerents have lost 50.2 trillion ISK, up about 2.2 trillion ISK week over week, while nearly 420 thousand ships have been lost, up nearly 25 thousand ships week over week. The average ship lost cost 119.6 million ISK. A rough estimate of the real world cost of the war is no less than 698,000 USD/523,000 GBP/586,000 EUR.

There were nine fights in week 17 that exceeded 20 billion ISK in total losses. Four were strategic wins for the Imperium, two were draws, and three were strategic wins for PAPI. The fights were all modest affairs, the largest total loss being about 65 billion ISK.

The two major theaters are the North (Fountain and the border with Aridia and Cloud Ring as well as northern Delve) and the South (the rest of Delve, Paragon Soul, Querious, Stain, Period Basis, and Esoteria).

THE NORTHERN THEATER

Action in the North continues to be mostly capital ganks as life returns to Fountain and players move assets around.

THE SOUTHERN THEATER

Week 17 in the South began with a pair of smartbombings as the Imperium tried to wipe PandaFam fleets sent to hack parts of the W-4U1E constellation. The Imperium lost about 5.2 billion ISK while killing 37.5 billion ISK. Monday saw The Bastion save their Fortizar in Esoteria, again, destroying 15.1 billion ISK while losing 1.2 billion.

Tuesday was busier as PAPI and the Imperium brawled over the LSC-4P constellation’s iHub nodes. Over four hours or so, as the two sides attempted to establish grid control over the essential nodes so that their members could hack, the fleets traded body blows, with PAPI adding capitals to the mix before the Imperium conceded the grid. The Imperium killed 23 billion ISK while losing 15.6 billion, including five iHubs. Elsewhere in Delve, PanFam were able to push a TNT Erebus off of tether on a Raitaru and kill it. The Stain Russians were also able to kill an Astrahus in TEST’s home system of D-PNP9, destroying 4.1 billion ISK and losing 1.8 billion.

Additionally, the Imperium had some subcaps get ground down by a PAPI subcapital force, with some dreadnoughts in support. The PAPI forces killed 28.1 billion ISK for 4.5 billion in losses. PandaFam also beat up on some Imperium Sacrileges, bombers and FAXes in Feroxes and Zealots with dreadnought supports, killing 33.8 billion ISK for 8.8 billion in losses. The last action of Tuesday was a Ferox brawl that the Imperium got the better of, killing 3.8 billion ISK for 2.1 billion in losses.

Wednesday’s action was mostly just a strange brawl in the Imperium’s capital of 1DQ1-A as PandaFam brought fleets in to kill the offline cyno jammer in system, killing 25.4 billion ISK and losing 21.7 billion. Thursday was a busy day as the Imperium chased PAPI out of NOL-M9 after they killed a cyno jammer, with the Imperium killing 14.4 billion ISK for 10.3 billion in losses. Goons lost a Fortizar in NPC Delve. The Imperium later saved a faction Fortizar in hull, killing 1.1 billion ISK and losing 2.3 billion. The Bastion once again saved their Fortizar in Esoteria, killing 3.6 billion ISK for 951 million in losses. Friday was largely about preparing for a busy Halloween, as the Imperium saved the YX-LYK constellation in northern Delve and attempted to protect the 9GNS-2 iHub in southern Delve, but PAPI were able to take the objective, killing 33.4 billion ISK and losing 35 billion to the Imperium forces.

Saturday was busy as an Imperium Harpy gang caught a spicy battleship and some other kills. Goons later wiped a Caracal gang, killing 3.2 billion for under 1 billion in losses. An Initiative Muninn fleet fought PandaFam Eagles to a standstill in Period Basis, killing 3.8 billion for 3.3 billion in losses. The Imperium retook the GOP-GE Keepstar iHub in Querious and saved the AM0K Sotiyo in PUIG-F. The Imperium and PAPI contested iHubs in southern Delve, with the Imperium retaking PF-KUQ, as they killed 4.3 billion ISK for 7.1 billion ISK lost. The Imperium also fought PAPI on a Tatara, failing to prevent PAPI winning the timer fight, but killing 8.6 billion ISK as they extracted, losing 7.1 billion.

ELSEWHERE IN NEW EDEN

Wednesday brought news that the Red Alliance is officially leaving the PAPI coalition and allying with the Imperium, intent on making their way to Delve while they decide where to move next. Friday brought news that a diplomatic incident may have led to Army of Mangoes ceasing support of World War Bee, although Vily denied any change in its diplomatic standing on Reddit. On Halloween, an Imperium whaling fleet caught some Rorquals in Impass, killing 21.2 billion ISK for 2 billion in losses.

This last week has been an odd one, yet again.

Not so long ago Fraternity and AoM leaders were on a show together and the Fraternity leader was making noises about killing AoM after “exterminating goons from the game”. AoM are moving from the front but Vily also says that this is all a lie. Not sure what is going on there exactly but to say that there is no animosity would be dishonest.

Evictus has been losing major corps recently. With the two corps leaving of late it represents almost 20% of Evictus membership. 20% drop in membership has historically been a sign of an alliance that is about to failcascade. This may not be true in this case but the threashold has been met and without further information from Evictus leadership you can only speculate. Again Legacy leadership is quiet on this matter.

Brave’s “not a SotA” was also very telling. This was not a leader having to restrain their members, quite the contrary. This was a leader pleading with the membership to hold fast and preparing them for many months of grinding ahead. Meanwhile other PAPI members seem to be thinking that they will have burnt Delve in no time at all as they were taking 2 constellations every 48 hours. The fact that this is not actually seen on Dotlan is a fact PAPI members seem happy to ignore. These mixed messages are normally indicative of broken lines of communication at best.

Vily made a lot of noise well over a week ago about killing a goon Keepstar. This has still not happened despite having ample opportunity and resources. Vily was even willing to bet 100 billion ISK on the matter. A bet I would have taken if he had been about but Vily and Piggles seem to go missing for a couple of days. At least according to their respective killboards and Reddit posting.

Especially in he latter part of the week there seemed to be many instances where PAPI stood down their forces despite still having superior numbers. This would be perfectly understandable if they were outnumbered. But to “blue balls” when you have the numbers to “hell dunk” and not do it, is that not strange? Was Vily and Piggles not about and therefore PAPI lacked the FC team to fight the Imperium?

Feedstars were great fun according to PAPI a couple of weeks ago. But since putting down their Keepstar in NPC Delve there have been no others. It seems that this campaign is now all about PAPI avoiding as much risk as possible while pushing towards 1DQ, the home of The Imperium. This is interesting mainly as it is a wonderful demonstration of shifting goalposts from PAPI. The Imperium simply has one goal that cannot be moved, survive extermination.

I’m consistently amused by PAPI’s “goalpost moving” shit-memes on the subreddit. This comes from people whose war narrative has been:

(1). Exterminate Goons and remove them from the game.
(2). Well, really we just want gudfites.
(3). Didn’t want to hold Fountain anyway.
(4). Don’t really want a Keepstar in NPC Delve; these are just “feedstars.”
(5). Our goal all along was to anchor a Keepstar in NPC Delve.
(6). We’re not attacking Goon structures.
(7). ‘Exterminating Goons’ always meant taking iHubs.
(8). You know what? This war’s getting long *loud exhale*
(9). Didn’t want those allies anyway.
(10). These things take time, okay bro?

“go die in a fire” – What an interesting response.

“blobs armies dont do anything quickly man or have you never faced one before? ”

The goons and test as a “blob army” shredded the north in just under 3 months, many other wars have taken 3 months or less for blobs to win. The crawling pace of this war is due to Test leaderships lack of direction.

ive never personally seen goons win a fight first hand. i have seen them camp every gate in someones territory until people gave up and left tho many times.

This comment has nothing to do with the discussion we were having about blobs and how they enable you to win faster and it reeks of “GRRR GONS HAT GONS”

and you seem really hung up on time frames and just seem to completely ignore competence. sounds more like you are trying to defend your little bee friends rather then have anything real to say.

Boy are you desperate to talk about anything except blobs now that someone has pointed out your statement about how blobs don’t win wars fast is incorrect and only applies to the poorly lead PASSPI coalition.

*EDIT Oh that’s adorable I just noticed you went through and downvoted all my recent comments. That totally doesn’t make you look like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum because someone pointed out their flawed argument…

and you didnt do the same to me first buttercup? and whose the one coming up with flaccid arguments to try and make a bunch of losers who are losing look good? sorry goonboy but you can take a hike, this is a perfect example what you folks are about.

I read the article, read your posts, downvoted them from being trash and then posted, you lost an argument then threw a fit and downvoted me out of spite. So no buttercup, that’s not the same thing.

This is the point where you lost your argument dear. You see you made a claim and someone countered it citing examples. Rather than try and defend your initial and now visibly foolish claims you move on to a different argument altogehter. Now someone less adept at the internet may fall for this. But the readership at INN is normally of a higher quality.

The closer they get to winning the war, the closer they get to turning on each other. Fraternity especially has not been secretive about their ambitions. I get the impression Fraternity wants the war to go faster, while TEST wants to slow it down. Both makes sense if they’re thinking about what will happen once the Imperium out of the way and they start fighting each other.

Oh, let me put it in terms the Reddit brigade can understand: CRACKS FORMING LUL.

      • William Doe Simon Chui

I am really hoping Fraternity decides to say fuck it all and just start attacking Legacy in the foreseeable future while this war is going on. PanFam will just be watching and laughing the chaos that ensues. I’m sure they too are frustrated due to Vily and Piggles mucking about with this goalpost shifted messaging of theirs.

SOV isn’t everything, but looking at the sov maps this past week, it does look ugly as PAPI took over Period Basis and now they’re really completing their surround around Delve. But the attackers just making the battlefield smaller so that the Imperium isn’t as spread out in defense which works better in the defender’s advantage.

I’ve been shocked since I started following this attempt at WWB2 that PAPI is willing to deploy their forces while their “ally” FRAT continues to camp and drop their home regions while working with them to attack goons. It’s almost like PAPI leadership is incapable of realizing that FRAT is just using them all like disposable meat sacks to harm an alliance they see as a threat, The Imperium and in the process weakening the next two largest groups, Panfam and Legacy in the process. I can’t wait till this war is declared “over” and PAPI starts to extract only to be met with FRAT drops on their individual move ops. And then there’s the whole we the imperium probably aren’t just going to let them quietly evac back to their home space in peace thing.

        • William Doe Garreth Vlox

Makes me think how eager FRAT is ready to unleash themselves onto TEST when the war is over, it’s obvious they want to get payback. Their actions since this war began have shown that they’ll do whatever the hell they want and they clearly have ulterior motives.
I’m more interested in exactly how PanFam will react to all of this, will they join in with FRAT and start dunking on a depleted TAPI? Or will they just laugh it off and go back home not taking sides.

          • Garreth Vlox William Doe

Yep, its like TEST forgot all about the war they had with FRAT and how FRAT probably wants just a little bit of revenge over that…
