Brave alliance recently suffered several leaks of leadership discussions, necessitating some attempts at damage control. Subsequent to those leaks, we have several events by which to gauge the mixed reaction to these events.
First, INN contacted Dunk Dinkle on Discord to get his reaction to the leaks and the aftermath. His comments follow.
“The chat leaks are obviously disheartening and personally disappointing. The length and intensity of this war has worn on every group on each side. The leaks simply show people trying to discuss and find solutions to complex problems. These conversations are happening in every group, whether publicly admitted or not. From personal conversations with leaders on both sides, I know this is true.”
“Brave continues to fight. The amount of personal support I have received is overwhelming. The direct support given to Brave by our allies is also generous and heartfelt. Much as our opponents like to point out that outsiders don’t know how they think, the same is true for Brave. Our resolve has been strengthened by this.”
“We look forward to continuing the war and continuing to participate in this epic time in New Eden.”
“Out of game, I hope all pilots stay safe. There have been far too many cynos lit this year in memory of those we have lost.”
Silver Ticket
Another Brave pilot’s actions today, February 12, 2021, put a different spin on how a line member deals with such news.
This image shows arkad accepting the “Silver Ticket” offered by the Imperium, and freeing his Leviathan from the M2 hellcamp. This Goon ping confirms the escape: “we are very pleased to announce that we have successfully offered the first SILVER TICKET, freeing one (1) Leviathan-class titan from the M2-XFE hellcamp and acquiring it from its previous owner (a member of BRAVE) at a greatly discounted rate! In this case the pilot in question has decided to begin a new life in a better home within the Imperium. . . .”
These are two starkly different reactions to the Brave leaks. Dinkle, while to his credit not denying the validity of the leaks, puts the best “spin” he can on the current Brave situation, which, as the leaked documents make clear, appear dire. Arkad voted with his feet. He’s now in the Imperium with his titan docked in 1DQ, which has yet to see a significant attempt at being overrun.
