Reports came in to the INN News Desk a couple days ago that there was a final timer coming up on a Stainwagon Keepstar in 37S-KO. The Keepstar is owned by the Good Sax alliance, and was reported to be under fire from TEST. The numbers in local continue to grow as the reinforced timer counts down. With 40 minutes to go before the timer is up at 0125, Mercenary Coalition has flown in a flight of interceptors and docked up in a nearby citadel. We expect to see plenty of other corps and alliances showing up to this one, with Stainwagon seemingly being a popular target.
With this Keepstar likely going down in a ball of flames, we’ve sent a reporter to the field to capture the updates as they happen!
0105 – TEST have shown up to the party in supercarriers. They are applying the popular tactic of sitting with all of their supercarriers tethered to a nearby Fortizar, while their fighter wings go and do all the grunt work. 13 minutes until the reinforced timer is up, and we are up to 740 in local and climbing. The Keepstar is currently surrounded by fighters.
0120 – TEST is still the most prominent entity on the field, with a fleet of Maelstroms now undocked to back up the supercarriers. There has been little sign of Stainwagon on grid yet. 4 minutes until the timer is up!
0139 – As expected when we saw them earlier, MC have shown up along with Northern Coalition, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other allies, flying a fleet of Talos and Cerberus, with other ships thrown in the mix. At this point, though, TEST still has the largest fleet at this point. Keepstar down to 85%, Local at 1170.
0155- Kills are starting to rack up as the local numbers seem to have stopped growing. Zkillboard for 37S-KO can be found here. Not too many kills showing up from Good Sax, but more defenders have arrived, with INIT and Shadow Cartel among others showing up to shoot at TEST. Structure is just under 75% on this Keepstar, and is going down steadily!
0215 – The field has opened up at this point, with kills happening on either side fairly steadily. Various Stainwagon corps have shown up in defense of the Keepstar, which has held at 70% structure for a few minutes now, and has gone into the repair timer. The attackers are still on the field trying to turn this Keepstar into scrap, but they’ve been met by a strong resistance. Will the defenders be able to hold off the assaulting force?
0235 – The defenders have done it! Though TEST and their allies, they were unable to beat back the combined defense fleets. The Keepstar has been secured. Local is still at 1100, but the brunt of this thing is done. Kills are still coming in, and the grid is still chock full of ships from both sides.
Stainwagon should be happy with this successful defense of their Keepstar. It’s a risky play running it down to the structure timer, but they managed to scrape up a defense force strong enough to beat back the supers and battleships brought to the field by TEST and their allies.
The kills are still coming in, but the Keepstar lives. We’ll let things cool down at this point, and hopefully follow up with some FCs and a battle report soon!
UPDATE: The original text of this article put NC/MC on the attacking side of this conflict. They were among the defenders, and the text has been corrected.
