A Pandemic Legion fleet under Killah Bee, consisting of dreadnoughts and Navy Apocalypses, attacked and reinforced a LAWN jump bridge POS in LAWN’s capital system of FH-TTC earlier today. LAWN and BASTION pings went out for Hurricanes under Cainun while alliance interdictor pilots, still recovering from yesterday’s Avatar hunt, kept the PL fleet bubbled as much as they could. However attrition took its toll, and the dreads were able to cyno out, most probably to FDZ4-A.
The PL Napocs warped and jumped to H-5GUI, where they were bubbled and attacked by Russian pilots belonging to Legion of xXDeathXx and Infinity Space and others. PL dreadnoughts and triage carriers, either the ones who had just cynoed out of FH-TTC or others on standby, also dropped on field to help the Napocs.
TMC reached out to Legion of xXDeathXx whose FC spoke to us through a translator. He told us XIXS was forming to reinforce PL towers when the PL dreadnought fleet entered BWF-ZZ. XIXS intended to drop on them in BWF-ZZ but experienced hardware difficulties and finally caught only one carrier as PL left BWF-ZZ. Once the Archon was killed, XIXS sent out cynos to find the PL fleet but only caught up with them and lit the cyno as they were leaving FH-TTC.
At this point Cainun suspected a trap but undocked the Hurricanes from FH-TTC anyway and jumped into H-5GUI. Thus began the second annihilation of a powerful enemy fleet in alliance space in so many days. With Cainun racing to keep up with target calling while having to be careful not to broadcast the Russians who were helping, the Hurricanes burned down one Napoc after another in quick succession and then began killing the dreadnoughts and carriers.
Result: LAWN and BASTION suffered 4 billion isk in losses, their Russian ‘allies’ 9 billion isk, while jointly inflicting 90 billion isk in losses to Pandemic Legion.
LAWN’s Cainun had this to say about the engagement:
“Given XIX and PL’s long history I strongly suspected them working with one another. However when they bridged in 100k off the PL fleet and aggressed them… And I received word that an FC had reached out and asked us to come murder PL. I said fuck it, whats a 120 man hurricane fleet to the srp wallet and mongo’d in. Chain volleyed Napocs and nuked almost every single one, not sure what xdeath was doing aside from meatshielding. Had xdeath not soaked up so much fire though, the fight likely would’ve been far more even. I suspect we would’ve won the isk war by a landslide still, but probably wouldn’t have murdered all the caps.”
TMC has reached out to Killah Bee for comment as well, and will update this article if he replies.
