On August the 26th, a small group of I Whip My Slaves Back and Forth (J4LP) dreadnoughts and subcapital support ships in I-E3TG were working on flipping the station in the system. Disaster struck when Pandemic Legion dropped a fleet of two titans, twenty-two Raven battleships and support ships on them. In the ensuing battle four of the five J4LP dreadnoughts were destroyed, along with most of their subcapital support fleet. Pandemic Legion lost a couple of ravens and some support.
J4LP was founded by Fweddit and has long been Reddit’s Faction Warfare alliance. As influence in the warzone grew, their leadership announced ambitions to expand beyond faction warfare and conquer space in nullsec in June 2013. The original plan to take space in Querious was thwarted when the Northern Coalition (NCdot) moved into the region.
During the Fountain war, J4LP joined the side of the Clusterfuck Coalition. With the CFC victorious and TEST’s announcement that they would be abandoning all their systems in 0.0, J4LP is using the opportunity to begin conquering systems in Delve.
While the losses for J4LP are estimated to be only around 12 billion ISK, the threat of further drops by Pandemic Legion will likely have a chilling effect on J4LP’s progress in Delve as the usage of capitals will likely be more restricted.
One of the PL Ravens was piloted by former J4LP director Xolve.
