Capital Brawl in Cloud Ring

In Cloud Ring on June 27 at roughly 2:38 EVE time in TN-T7T the Imperium and Syndicate Coalition (SynCo) clashed with a coalition consisting of Iron Armada, Usurper., and Lethal Intent. (LIU) and their allies over two Promethium moons in the system, one owned by I Whip My Slaves Back And Forth (J4LP) and the other owned by Lethal Intent. In a capital clash culminating with a supercap escalation, 144 billion ISK was destroyed in total. The Imperium/SynCo forces won both timers, conquering one moon and saving the other while losing the ISK war by 18 billion ISK.

The Imperium forces consisted largely of capitals and Ishtar fleets with SynCo bringing armor T3s. LIU brought Apocalypse Navy Issues/armor battleships with their own capitals and an allied Mordus Angels bomber wing. LIU, finding themselves outnumbered due to the assistance from SpaceMonkey’s Alliance (SMA) given to J4LP/SynCo, called in help from Mordus Angels, Did he say Jump, and Republic of Pew. Imperium/Synco lost 78.66 billion ISK and inflicted 60.25 billion ISK in damages to their opponents.

The fight was due to begin at 02:10, but was delayed by sov mechanics. Lethal Intent successfully took the system in the night, so when the reinforcement cycle ended, the Lethal Intent tower found itself with extra strontium due to the POS fuel cost reduction bonus that comes from owning a system. Due to this bonus, it immediately went into another hour of reinforcement.

This posed a problem for SynCo capitals. They had been lying in wait at a midpoint and were caught by surprise at the plot twist. They logged off for an hour to come back when the timer ran out again, but having many capitals in a system tends to light up intel networks. This time also allowed the batphoned NC. to get come through a wormhole and get on the Iron Armada bridging Titan. The Heretic alt of LeoniaTavira kept the SynCo fleet in place, but a mistimed bubble allowed many to escape.

Upon the arrival of SynCo/J4LP/SMA capitals and subcapitals to the field, the LIU capitals and battleships cynoed and bridged in at about 80-100 kilometers from the fleets, causing few losses due to the extreme range. SynCo then got a cyno on top of the LIU fleet and the fight began in earnest. Early on the SynCo anchor burned out of range of their triage, causing them to lose two Proteuses. J4LP/SMA/SynCo were losing capitals much faster than the LIU fleet, but in the third siege cycle Imperium supercapitals came in and very quickly massacred LIU who disengaged as quickly as possible to as to mitigate losses, their battleships MJDing to safety and docking.

An Iron Armada bomber wing is credited with mitigating quite a bit of incoming damage from the Ishtar fleet of J4LP/SMA by bombing out their drones. This likely helped LIU mow down capitals much more quickly. However, due to the arrival of Imperial supercapitals, not as many subcapitals died compared to if the capital brawl had been allowed to play out to the end. Regardless, Imperium/SynCo successfully took the moon and saved the other one.

This engagement occurs as LIU, having been pushed out of Syndicate by SynCo, push into J4LP owned Cloud Ring before Fozziesov, attempting to plant a flag for themselves. This engagement shows the amount of force LIU is willing to apply to take their foothold in the region, and foreshadows the intensity of engagements to come.
