In The Spire on 5/27 at 02:00 EVE time in QRH-BF, Mercenary Coalition, along with friends Northern Coalition., engaged a Triumvirate. fleet over the fate of a Titan pilot who, in the style of Dabidgredboat, jumped instead of bridged his Ragnarok. MC, NC., and S2N were victorious, quickly dunking the Triumvirate fleet and attacking the Titan until he self destructed. The combined forces of NC. and MC achieved their objective of destroying the titan, and inflicting the most damage at minimal cost. A timeline of the battle can be found here.
Mercenary Coalition and allies brought a rough kitchensink/Tempest/Ishtar fleet led by Sabre A, while Northern Coalition. and Nulli Secunda brought Proteuses. TRI for their part brought Rattlesnakes, though a TRI Gila shows up on his own alliance’s Titan kill. Sabre A of Mercenary Coalition has said it was Nulli Secunda that called them in for the kill.
Expensive ships such as these are burning around the Drone Regions as part of an ongoing war between Triumvirate and its friends, known as the Vanguard Coalition, and the Geminate Coalition with their hired hands Nulli Secunda who became mercenaries after being forced out of the South by Pandemic Legion. Perhaps the best part about this Titan’s death is the event happening due to the oldest and most expensive mistake in the book – jumping instead of bridging your Titan. It certainly adds a bit of humor to the conflict in the East.
TMC would like to thank MOMEHT uCTuHbI, the former owner of the titan, and Sabre A, FC of the Mercenary Coalition fleet, for their contributions.
Update: The original article stated that the Fountain War was a result of the Battle of Asakai. This is not the case and the article has been changed to reflect that.
