AT XV Feeder Rounds Announced – Alliance Vs. Alliance Action Early On

The 15th Alliance Tournament Feeder Rounds have been announced,  and there are some interesting matchups early on. Let’s take a closer look at the announced teams and some of the more interesting matchups!

When Blues Become Red

Good battles can often be unpredictable in the Alliance Tournament, as the matchups can be so diverse. This year there is a small bit of drama before the tournament even begins! Some of the feeder round draws have resulted in friendly alliances facing each other. With previous Alliance Tournaments having occasional bouts with collusion between teams, we must assume that the tournament organizers will be watching these feeder rounds very closely to ensure fair play.

  • Arena 1 – 15:30: Ghost Legion. vs PURPLE HELMETED WARRIORS (Panfam VS. Panfam): Though this may be interesting in terms of the Panfam Vs. Panfam aspect, another factor coming into play here will be Alliance Tournament Experience. That is, neither of these teams have been in an Alliance Tournament before (at least, under these names).
  • Arena 1 – 19:30: Red Alliance vs Brothers in Arms Alliance (SW Russians VS. Goon Russians): These Russian alliances have tended to coexist successfully in the past. They’ll have to set aside any form of camaraderie for this one, however, as only one team will be able to move on! It’s worth noting that Red Alliance participated in The Anger Games recently, so they’ve got tournament gameplay fresh in their minds!
  • Arena 2 – 13:00: Pen Is Out vs Spaceship Bebop (Gallente Militia VS. Gallente Militia): With both of these alliances being Gallente Militia, maybe there will be added motivation to prove which is the better FW alliance. Additionally, the Pen Is Out alliance managed to get to the final bracket of the Anger Games tournament (results of which can be seen here). We’ll see if they can improve their result in this tournament!

More To Look Out For!

These next matchups may not have the friendly vs. friendly backstory, but are definitely worth looking out for:

  • Arena 2 – 18:00: Heirs of Nothing (with I Aim To Misbehave) vs Templis CALSF: Alliance tournament newcomers Heirs of Nothing have teamed up with I Aim To Misbehave to create a tournament coalition. They face off against Templis CALSF, who were the runners up in the recent Anger Games tournament. Templis also has experience from last year’s Alliance Tournament to rely on. Will experience beat the coalition?
  • Arena 2 – 18:30: Spectre Fleet Alliance vs Goonswarm Federation: Of course, you shouldn’t need any reminders to keep your eyes peeled for this one. Goonswarm Federation has once again fielded a team in pursuit of e-honour and glory. Maybe this time they’ll go all the way! Make sure you head over to watch the stream and cheer on your favourite team!

These are just a few of the matches to look out for in the feeder rounds, but there may be some real barn burners in there that we don’t know about, so you’ll just have to watch ’em all! The feeder rounds begin on June 10th at 1300 EVE time, and wrap up with the last matchup at 1730 EVE time on June 11th. Follow Eve NT Coverage here. There’ll be lots to see, so make sure you tune in!

How can there be collusion in a match where only one team can advance? What would be the incentive to help your opponent?

Maybe agreeing what setups to bring to hide your best ones for later but are they really that meta?
