Today, in the Derelik system of Bekirod, a Naglfar belonging to Its Teh, a seemingly ordinary pilot was killed. However, the loss mail was anything but normal when it comes to a Naglfar: Inside the wreck of the dead dreadnought was a Caedes, a 120 billion ISK Alliance Tournament Prize ship. The Caedes is a Blood Raider Covert Ops frigate, The hull’s bonuses include a bonus to scanning, the Blood Raider nos, neut and web bonus, classical covert ops bonuses, as well as a full set of bonuses to small energy turret.
This very complete set makes it an excellent site hunter—if not the best—for those who can afford, or have won one. And that is what TehEbil1 from The Tuskers did with his, being quite efficient with 170 kill marks.
Unforunately for TehEbil1, this wasnt the first time he’s lost this exact Caedes. On the 21st September, he lost the Caedes in Hulmate, in Essence to a new type of NPC’s. More information about the loss of this ship, and its subsequent reimbursement due to a bug where the NPC’s did not appear on the overview, can be found here.
I reached out to TehEbil1 to find out exactly how he managed to lose the Caedes for a second time.
INN: So you lost the caedes and had it reimbursed a few weeks ago right? how did that feel?
TehEbil1: A slight panic in the actual situation because of the slight patch day issues, after that just some anxiety even though i was pretty sure i had a clear case in the petition
INN: So, after you got it back, did you continue to get kills with it, and treat it like you were before hand?
TehEbil1: Was thinking of moving to a new area to avoid some of the heat, grabbed one kill on the route probably ended on some tracker looks like, but at least I got up to 170 killmarks.
INN: So, i guess my next question is what happened, you were moving it in a dread right?
TehEbil1: I had a midway set up two jumps from the system in an npc station which unfortunately had someone popping cynos in the systems only undock
INN: Yeah, they do that a lot in Derelik
TehEbil1: So i got bit lazy and didnt doublecheck dotlans alternate waypoint
INN: So, what happened? You say you got lazy?
TehEbil1: Well, I’m not that versed in Eves politics and dont keep too much of an eye on the news, which eventually ended with me tethered on a citadel with no docking access and an anathema getting bit close for my liking
INN: Oooh, you got bait-citadeled?
TehEbil1: Yup
INN: So, i guess as soon as you landed and broke invulnerability, you knew it was over?
TehEbil1: Pretty much
INN: So, how does it feel, to lose, be reimbursed, and lose an at ship again so quickly?
TehEbil1-: Game as usual to be honest. Probably not my best moments but the way i flew it would probably have ended in something similar, be it in an actual PvP encounter or something else
INN: So, do you plan to buy another AT ship soon, or are you done for a while?
TehEbil1: I have most of my liquid tied up at other projects atm so will probably stick to more conventional ships for a while.
INN: Well, I hope you fly them with the same gusto you flew the Caedes with, bad way for it to go down though
TehEbil1: At least it survived the drop so will probably see some more action
INN has reached out to RocketX for more information about what happened to the dropped Caedes, but as of yet, we have no reply.
