To Legacy, with love, from INIT

We are fast approaching a year of World War Bee, the biggest and bloodiest fight to have ever occurred in EVE Online, and there is very little evidence of it slowing down.

Fountain of Glass

On June 21st 2020 Imperium Command received the following

“At this time, we feel that it is in the best interest of both parties that our mutual NIP come to an END. Due to the conflict you are currently involved in and because of our history of cooperation and friendship I am proposing the NIP to end on the date of July the fifth to allow you two weeks to fortify your borders or any areas you feel would require it. If you intend to end the NIP before that time we will understand. “

During the first phases of the war The Initiative took the brunt of the PAPI invasion with Panfam setting their sights on Fountain.

As the war commenced, PanFam were given the task of tackling Fountain. Many fights were had as PAPI setup staging in Hophib. INIT dug in and prepared. With PAPI focused on D4KU, due to a long regional jump into Fountain, the sov wanding began. Closely followed by INIT defending the constellation on a consistent basis. It took PAPI forces over a month to break the defences of Fountain before INIT decided to reposition. With numbers of hostiles always being an issue, INIT made the decision to move all assets out of Fountain and into Delve.

The Glassing of Fountain cost 5.2 trillion isk from the defenders, and 1.8 trillion isk from the attackers. INIT directly took 1.9 trillion of those losses, which is not insignificant.

The Best Defence?

With Fountain behind us, and the continued incursions into allied space, INIT did what INIT does best. We deployed. With a thirst for revenge, INIT deployed to Catch with the core goal of absolute destruction.

With many targets to choose from, the level of devastation caused by INIT and frenemies is undeniable.

230 Athanors, 71 Fortizars, 13 faction Fortizars, 60 Astrahus, 50 Raitaru, 136 Jump Gates, 23 Tataras, 47 Rorquals and many many more. The butcher’s bill for PAPI so far in the southern regions reaches 9.1 trillion isk, exceeding the 5.2 trillion in the glassing of Fountain, however, this clearly is not enough.

Best Served Cold…

With recent news circulating that Legacy have approached Red Alliance and INIT in hopes of selling faction fortizars and other structures, clarification was provided by INIT leadership.

In a war of mutually-assured destruction there will be no deals, no compromises and no mercy. The only way out is death, and it won’t be ours.

There’s no deal we would ever sign up to, this goes to the end.

Sister Bliss

INITs official stance is not abiding by any deals made with legacy. If it had a legacy ticker it will die.

Dark Shines

Further to this, Dark Shines provided additional insight into people driving the “moving goalpost” narrative.

Exactly like how Fountain burnt down. INIT has never claimed that glassing Fountain didn’t matter. It was our home.

Equally as important is INIT glassing Legacy’s home. They are moving to Delve with the hopes to live there but it’s clear to everyone they can only live there for as long as panfam hand hold. If panfam leave, then legacy need to as well but now there will be nothing behind for them to retreat into.

Future Legacy

Legacy has major concerns going forward with regards to winning this war. There are now many requirements in place for Legacy to come out of this war unscathed. That becomes especially true when ‘TEST is Next’. Along with TEST, Legacy stands as the primary target of retribution should the war stall.

Should Legacy not destroy huge amounts of Imperium super capitals, they will not be able to hold Delve. If they are unable to take 1DQ1-A, they will not be able to hold Delve. With their former home space burning, they have nowhere to go with infrastructure in place. And finally, with ProGodLegend previously stating they would control their prior space and Delve, more and more questions are being asked about the competency of the Legacy war leadership.

“Should Legacy not destroy huge amounts of Imperium super capitals, they will not be able to hold Delve.” this was their flaw in their entire strategy. Without diminishing our supers/tits, especially after M2, legacy is doomed in any scenario that the imperium maintains a critical amount of membership, regardless of whether the imperium hold 1DQ1 or not.

Whether we retreat to NPC delve or not, we are an elephant trapped in a very tiny box.

A very angry elephant at that ;-).

All the structures PAPI plans on spending months clearing out is just a stalling game in hopes that the Imperium will go away so they can actually attack 1DQ; there is no strategic reason. They fear attacking a defended 1DQ because they don’t want to take the gigantic super and titan losses which are guaranteed.
This obvious fear of the inevitable is also the greatest morale boost for the Imperium since everyone wants to keep playing and staying in the war knowing they have a guaranteed gigantic slaughter of PAPI forces.
In synopsis PAPI have months of boring structure grinding while they pray the Imperium away and the Imperium have months of looking forward to taking their 100 pounds of flesh from PAPI.

Vily was saying just last night (TTT 2021-03-23) that PAPI will be taking 1DQ. They have a plan and they will take 1DQ apart brick by brick.

Vily also went to explain at great lenghts that “extermination” was never really meant. He was quickly followed by a fellow PAPI line member stating that “goons are here to ruin your game”. I love this world in which some people are held accountable for every word they say, but for others such things are below them.

You can’t take a staging system “brick by brick” without actually attacking it and if vily didn’t mean extermination then he should really stop saying it every week.

Correct me if I’m wrong though but wasn’t the “Ruin your game” tag line from Darius Johnson… who was in PL now Darius Johnson? Shouldn’t Vily be aware of that? Or is he really that ill informed in general? Should we give him a box with just left shoe and a kind note?

The Darius Johnson quote is from ten years ago and was said by someone who (1) hasn’t played the game in five years and (2) admitted, last time anyone heard from him, that he did not represent or even recognize Goon culture after leaving the alliance.

Vily’s goals were stated less than a year ago by one of the top current leaders in an ongoing war.

If PAPI thinks those are comparable concepts, then they truly are every bit the sloped-forehead morons their Reddit memes suggest they are.

Brick by brick sounds like he won’t attempt a full assault and wants to wait around a long time.

I would say that out of all the groups The Legacy is now the most invested for this war to continue as long as possible. The reason for this is that they can only hope that by some chance The Imperium makes a monumental mistake and loses a massive amount of supers. In an ideal world of fantasy New Eden Frat would also suffer similar losses. Only then can TAPI feel a little more secure.

The most notable thing for me in this war is how The Legacy has trashed their ability to enter into credible diplomacy in the future. What is the point making a deal with a group if they are just going to break it? To be honest this is way worse than what TAPI accuse of groups like Snuffed Out. TAPI pretend to be honourable while striking deals that work against “valued allies”. At least Snuffed Out are open about their identity.

Anyway, lots of words and a tangent or two but I think you are likely right.

brick by brick makes it sound like he thinks he can take out 1 fort or keep out at a time… and the more these idiots talk about how they will fight for 1dq1 the more I doubt they have ever actually sat in the system in question and looked as the grid and realized how completely full of shit they sound when they talk about how they will take 1dq1 down. The grids in 1dq1 were built with the sole purpose of making you fight against multiple station gunners regardless of which one you choose to attack, unless you want to try and sit at extreme range in long range fit caps and try to snipe it down which just invites having a bunch of brawler range shit dropped on your face that you can’t shoot at with your range fits and good luck refitting in 10% tidi

The pauper wherewithal of the papi forces is why there is no realistic win scenario for them. If you dont want to pay the bills you cant buy the house. There is no chipping away with small incrementals, this butchers bill is COD. I am pretty sure this is dawning on them, and that is why they didnt just move the goal post, they pulled it up and threw it away. Now the Goal is from Vilys own mouth, we will tell you the win conditions when we reached them. I have honestly never heard of such a casus belli and win condition blanq cheque before, I am pretty sure its not in any applicable military strategem.

This has to be quite possibly the most entertaining war from the narrative perspective. With “pre-staged”, “the M2-X in cyno is perfectly placed” but a couple of the memorable lines supplied to PAPI so far I was doubting their ability to do more. Now we have the ethereal war objective of “we win when we say we win”. To be honest I think that would have been a better one to have started out with.

In the case of TEST and FRAT, its almost more a case of that old nugget: Sometimes when you win you actually lose, and sometimes when you lose you actually win. (respectively in order)

A rare event, but in this instance seemingly true.

I haven’t really played EVE in a couple years but I enjoy keeping up to date on Null. I can confirm that this war is entertaining in the sense that PAPI leadership is a fustercluck of loudmouths who, apparently, are completely incapable of basic strategy like gathering your forces before an attack and are simply bumbling forward despite much heavier losses than anyone could have anticipated when the war first started.

Imagine if you woke up in the middle of the night hungry so you get outta bed and accidentally stub your toe on the bed frame. Then you open the door to leave the bedroom and accidentally stub your toe on the doorframe. You walk down the hall twords your kitchen and accidentally trip on a rug which makes you faceplant on the tile giving you a nosebleed. Then you get to the kitchen, knock over a mug that was on the counter and walk several feet over broken glass to open the pantry. Now you finally start shoveling stale chips down your throat without drinking anything to wash them down. After which you let out a victory screem loud enough to wake the neighbors and call up all your friends to brag about it. That’s essentially what PAPI has been doing on repeat for a year.

The big question is once Catch/ Esoteria/ Paragon soul are glassed where does Init go next? The Drone Regions?
Papi has the tiger by the tail and can’t let go lest the get bit and slashed and yet … a major Init deployment into the Drone Regions … Can no longer hold onto the tiger with two hands while swatting at Init with the other.

I’m just amazed that puppets like Brave haven’t thought this through more.

    1) Let your trillions of ISK of home infrastructure burn down largely undefended
    2) More to a new region to grind down Goon structures for months
    3) Spend trillions more to lay down your own new structures in your ‘new home’
    4) Finally, hilariously and most importantly, pray that PanFam never leaves because the second it does, you start losing space.

Yup, sounds very well thought out. I’ll add to this the fact that all those groups burning down your old home (largely undefended) will still need to shot stuff once its done. I can see a natural progression westwards to add even more pressure on Legacy.
