An R64 owned by Hispanic Enterprises (JIHAD), a former CO2 entity, came out of reinforcement in Zorenyen of the Kor-Azor region at 0900 EST on Sunday, August 7. Although the tower was reinforced by the Imperium a few days prior, there was some initial confusion as to whether or not the tower had been downed and replaced by an Imperium holding.
A siegefleet was pinged that promised an easy tower killmail. In due course the R64 tower was destroyed, and the Imperium began the process of anchoring a new POS. Throughout the operation, Lyris Naari of Hispanic Enterprises followed the siegefleet bombers in a cloaked Proteus, a known hot dropper in the region. Although nothing of special note occurred during the POS bash, what followed was anything but lackluster.
CONDI scouts reported an Onyx, Harbinger Navy Issue, and 2 Machariels incoming a few jumps out as the siege bombers awaited the onlining of the new tower. In a quick display with only 10 minutes left on the anchoring process (to which the tower remains invulnerable), the JIHAD Proteus lit a cyno near the tower, bringing in several Naglfars, 2 Lifs, and a Nidhoggur. The Harbinger navy issue and three Machariel’s also appeared on grid somewhere in this time frame.
THE COUNTER RESPONSE
JIHAD made the decision to engage and sit with its capital contingent within jump range of the Imperium staging system. A quick response fleet formed under Sothrasil and members of Space Violence to counter drop the would be JIHAD defenders. Bombers cloaked up and re-warped onto the target at range. Like Captain Winters at Crossroads, points were called as the counter drop came in. Although the dreads and Proteus managed to escape the grasp of the Imperium, two highly valued Lifs (at approximately 3b ISK and 6b ISK each) were destroyed alongside three Machariels, an Iteron Mark V, and the Nidhoggur piloted by the Hispanic Enterprises CEO. The loot fairy was kind in this engagement, dropping several highly valued faction mods. Overall, around 14 billion ISK was lost by Hispanic Enterpises, with only 2 bombers valued at just over 100 million ISK lost by the Imperium.
NOT A STANDALONE BRAWL
JIHAD has engaged other local Khanid group such as Darwinism and Lowsechnaya (a recently blued Imperium group) in previous weeks. All the while claiming many money moons alongside a highly valued LSH Ragnarok kill. Since the Imperium has moved to nearby locales, a systematic destruction of JIHAD money moons has taken place. Communication with the CEO of Hispanic Enterprises during this time frame has provided interesting results:

The loss of these money moons and engagements may be just at the surface of a deeper issue that exists within this small low sec alliance. Previous communication prior to the aforementioned engagement with the Hispanic Enterprises CEO on one of his alt accounts pointed at skullduggery within the highest levels of JIHAD leadership.

After the engagement over the R64 in Zorenyen, lyssa naari, the Proteus pilot and right-hand man of Hispanic Enterprises exclaimed, “If you think you [The Imperium] are gonna keep your towers for very long, good luck with that :)”
THE VIABILITY OF JIHADASQUAD AND THE KHANID DREAM
It will be interesting to see how the JIHAD resistance pans out in coming weeks. Will their alliance leadership meet their early demise? Could they see the light and acquire blue standings with The Imperium? Or will they hold out and put on a resistance? If the events of Sunday are anything to wager, one could expect more welps should they choose the latter.
