On February 11, 2018, CCP released a dev blog which discussed the issues and future of the chat system. One of the major aspects is that all accounts subscribed on the day of March 20, 2018 (when the new chat was implemented) were to be given 500,000 Skill Points as a compensation measure for the extended periods of downtime and significant issues with the new chat system.
As of March 14, 2019, these skills points have been applied the character with the highest skill point count on each subscribed account. Personally, this feels like CCP have drawn a line under the current chat system, as if to say ‘everything is at a level we are willing to accept at the moment’.
If you should have recieved SP under CCP’s conditions but have not, you should know that many others have the same issues. Thes problems have made it to both the EVE-O Forums and Reddit. If you are affected, you will need to submit a support ticket at this location, with a full list of account names for any impacted accounts. The accounts which appear to be affected are those who were gifted subs or subscribe on Steam, but anyone who does not have the SP but should is encouraged to request support.
Despite CCP’s insistent that these chat systems are running properly, there was a chat system outage late on March 13, causing noticeable disruption. It will be interesting to see if we see any more issues with chat, but hopefully we through the worst of it. Only time will tell.
