PAPI attempted to rescue over 300 titans in M2-XFE early Saturday morning but were held off by Imperium forces in a tidi battle that lasted about three hours and brought over 1,500 pilots into system.
The breakout attempt followed weeks of individual failures to escape the bubble farm erected above and below the M2 Keepstar. Several hundred Imperium pilots have kept the grid camped since the hull timer fight on January 3. That fight led to a combined loss of 153 titans by both sides, and a total of 337 PAPI titans trapped in M2 after their pilots logged off.
Today’s fight saw 219 ships and 34 billion ISK lost by PAPI forces and 129 ships and 24 billion ISK lost by the Imperium, but over 300 PAPI titans remain trapped, logged off in system.
Imperium logistics anchored additional Fortizars around the Keepstar in advance of today’s breakout attempt to better control the grid and offer multiple platforms for its subcapital and capital forces. PAPI attempted to anchor an Azbel off grid in system several days ago, but it was destroyed today as well.
