The assault by the Imperium on the holdings of PanFam (PL, NCDot and PH) in the region of Tribute continue at pace.
A little after 06:00 on the 11th of June the Imperium started to stir. Meetings were held in preparation of the planned events of the morning. It was not just one Keepstar kill they were after, but two. Would there be any response from the PanFam forces? Only time would tell. But the Imperium forces were vigilant in that some resistance may occur and were determined to be prepared for it.
Additionally a Keepstar kill is generally considered to be a major event. It is not every day that the largest feasible structures risk death. Yet on this day there would be two Keepstar to kill and within half an hour of each other or so. One Keepstar was within the gateway system to Tribute from lowsec in the system of M-OEE8. The other was in the gateway system of 0-YMBJ in Tribute adjoining Pure Blind.
As you would expect the Imperium forces were all too keen to get in on the action despite the timing for AU TZ. The event had already been hyped in previous days and that “all the things” would be brought. Around 06:30 the first fleet pings were sent out to the troops of the Imperium. Shield and armour Titans, Super Carriers, Carriers and fleets of sub caps were quickly formed. Almost 2000 players from the Imperium were present in their forward staging system of KQK1-2. This was quite impressive given the unreasonable time set by the defenders.
Form-ups were slow and relaxed for the Imperium. The Imperium had many watchful eyes on the PanFam staging systems, all waiting to report of any meaningful formup in the defence of their Keepstars.
The first Keepstar to be attacked was the one belonging to “Get Glassed Inc” in M-OEE8. This was completely not due to it being transfered from Pandemic Legion in order to preserve their killboards. This Keepstar was valued at around 170 billion. This is a bit on the low side which can be explained by it having no rigs and of course it never had them.
The second Keepstar under fire was in the system of 0-YMBJ and belonged to Norther Coalition Dot. Unlike the Keepstar that totally did not belong to Pandemic Legion, this one was rigged. This gave it a kill value of around 290 billion according to zkillboard.
PanFam for reasons that only they truly know did not form a defence for either Keepstar. This meant that many pilots from the Imperium were able to get on both Keepstar kills. Both killmails show over 1500 pilots assisting in their destruction.
The full event was also shown on the Imperium News Twitch channel by the ever popular Dabigredboat that you can see here. Or if you just want the highlights of the M-O Keepstar lance party you can watch the very nice video from Wulkans.
A continuing theme from PanFam is that the Imperium is simply too big to fight. This is interesting coming from a group of so called elite PvPers willing to punch above their weight. It also flies in the face of the comments from the very same people for the 9-4 and Hakonen deployments that were made by the Imperium. In short it seems that PanFam were only too happy about the situation when they had capital superiority. Oh my how their perspectives have now changed. Now if only they had actually spent a bit of time punching upwards instead of constantly farming for easy wins and dank frags.
Some will say that the outcome of this days events were obvious. In this they may well be right. PanFam continue to hope that the Imperium will become bored of shooting endless amounts of structures. Meanwhile the Imperium is fielding new talent that are only too happy to shoot structures with many line members willing to support them. The one thing that is certain, given the numbers from the Imperium today it does not look like that they are burning out just yet.
