Ever since Aegis sov was released, it seems as if many major nullsec alliances have been closing their doors. Whether you view this as ominous or as an opportunity, the days of alliances like as Nulli Secunda and Black Legion are through. So when Northern Coalition (NCdot) suddenly shed 4 corporations and 300 members, one begins to wonder if they’re next to shutdown. Fortunately for NCdot, this seems to simply be a case of corporations moving on to other things.
The two largest corps that have left NCdot are Nex Exercitus (NEXE) and Macabre Votum (MV). Neither corp has joined a new alliance at time of writing, but NEXE’s membership shrunk since leaving. This is likely due to super pilots relocating to Burn Eden, another NCdot corp.
NEXE Supers leave for Burn Eden
Selest Cayal, CEO of Nex Exercitus, comments on the departure
TMC: Was it a voluntary departure, and if so, what prompted this decision?
Selest Cayal: It was a voluntary departure. The decision to leave NC is something we have been discussing internally for a while. Things change as time goes and the game changes. Some of our members where content in NC and have good friends there. Others felt it did not offer the games style they wanted. The decision was made to depart with some friends looking for the same thing we are.
TMC: Are you still on good terms with NCdot leadership?
Selest Cayal: I have the utmost respect for most of the people in NC both leadership and member base.
There are some great people doing allot of hard work herding cats there. So I would say I’m on good terms with most of leadership.
TMC: What’s next for Nex Exercitus?
Selest Cayal: Next for NEXE will be to complete our relocation and focus on having fun with some friends.
We will continue to take out fleets and have a good time; with what still is fun in this game. It will just be on a smaller scale and it will be with some other people.
TMC has reached out to MV leadership and is awaiting comment.
