Forces from the Imperium and Legacy Coalition hit multiple CO2 structures in Fade today. The intial incursion saw Imperium Baltec and Hammerfleets travel to X36Y-G for the structure timer of the Circle-of-Two Fortizar there. Half an hour later, a second CO2 Fortizar, this time in 3V8-LJ, died to Legacy Coalition. Despite expecting heavy resistance, both Fortizars exploded without any notable defense.
The next engagement came over the final timer of Circle-of-Two’s Sotiyo in 0-ARFO. Once again the combined arms of the Imperium’s Baltec and Hammerfleet engaged the target while the CO2 fleet—which was confirmed to have formed—was apparently elsewhere.
The was some speculation that CO2 would make at least some effort to defend their structures. Initial reports indicated a Muninn fleet somewhere in the area. Some line members questioned whether Circle-of-Two would muster another Muninn fleet based on the significant losses they incurred during the battle in DW-T2I on August 19. That engagement saw a Muninn fleet fail to defend against similar forces from the Imperium, and ended with the reinforcement of the Co2 I-Hub located there.
The Imperium’s Baltec and Hammerfleet forces aimed to continue their path of destruction and landed on grid with the Fortizar located in C-OK0R. With mere minutes left on the structure’s vulnerability timer the fleet was suddenly called to DW-T21. There, they reinforced the Ishtar fleet out of ROIR attacking the system’s I-Hub. However, Imperium Jackdaws finished off the Fortizar. Co2’s lack of defense also allowed an Aeon and Nidhoggur duo with a small bomber group to destroy multiple structures while the bulk of Imperium forces concentrated on the I-Hub.
Later activity included another dead CO2 Fortizar, this time in 0-ARFO, falling to a combined assault from the Imperium and Federation Uprising (FEDUP).
Fleet Commander Havish Montak had this to say about today’s victory, “We formed up, we attacked our objectives and the enemy formed up for some sort of secondary objective elsewhere for something we obviously weren’t going to engage, why pass up on expensive killmails like a Sotiyo and a Fortizar?”
Sky Marshall Asher Elias was also asked for comment regarding the uncontested devastation wrought by The Imperium today with his statement being, “We won and killed everything and they were afraid to fight”.
It was a great day for Imperium forces, but it begs the question: is Co2 still prepared to defend their space?
