The Tranquility Trading Consortium’s (TTC) Keepstar (KS), Tatara and Sotiyo have fallen in Ignoitton. The lowsec system of Ignoitton has seen dramatic action on Feb. 21, 2021. Snuffed Out (B B C) alliance, clearly not sated from their recent killing spree against the New Eden Pope, are back at it again.
The scene had already been set by this post from Vily, leader of The Legacy Coalition and the TTC. In the post, Vily notes that “people utilizing the complex [should] evacuate their assets,” giving fair warning that attempts to defend the KS, owned by TTC, would probably not be successful in the long term. Vily further states that “[a] day after taking their monthly up front payment Snuff decides to renege on their previous agreements and break their word.”
At 16:18 (all times UTC), 12 mins were left before the repair cycle began, with local steadily rising, though still quite low for such an event at 97 in local. This changed at 16:31 when local increased to 340.
It Begins–Though We Can’t Call It a Fight
The Snuffed Out forces arrived on and tethered on their own Fortizar on the same grid as the Keepstar they were attacking. At 16:32, Snuffed Out titans warped into firing range of the Keepstar. They were soon followed by the Snuffed Out carrier group. Local was now at 346 pilots as can be seen here.
The titans had paused the KS timer at 28m 23 seconds. The Snuffed Out carrier group had warped further behind the Snuff titans, releasing their fighters which were directed to the KS to apply damage and cover. By 16:42 the KS was already down to approximately 60% hull.
16:48 – There continues to be minor scuffles between subcaps, when opportunities present themselves, but it could only be considered small gang warfare at best. Local was at 413 with Snuffed Out representing the main contingent, with 120 pilots.
16:53 – The last couple of hull bars on the Keepstar are being chipped down.
Twenty Minutes Later . . . It’s Gone
16:54 – Snuffed Out titans and supers warped to the Keepstar un-docking point and an interesting bombing run was performed by the defenders, but with little effect.
16:58 the KS died. Snuffed Out caps are still on the KS grid with no fear of danger present. Looting taking place. Snuffed Out pulling back fighters to carrier group and preparing for an extraction.
Snuffed pulled back to their Fortizar in system in order to cap up before jumping back out. In short order the Snuffed carriers jumped out to what seemed to be the system of Sujarento. The Snuffed supers and titans remaining tethered on their Fortizar. Once aggression timers were down they too left the system.
More Structures Fallen or Falling
The Keepstar kill came in at 184 billion ISK, with 32 billion in loot dropped, including the 30 billion core.
Two more structures remained in the system owned by TTC. A Tatara that would exit its final timer at 19:40 and a Sotiyo at 22:50. Both are likely to fall without significant defense given the fate of the Keepstar.
