Today marks another step in the founding of a new social group within the Imperium. Some German speaking pilots within the Imperium may have already been informed about the implementation of “Krautschwarm” as a new Jabber conference room, dedicated entirely to their specific needs.
Within Krautschwarm, pilots will find just about the same content as in any other SIG or Squad such as helpful advice for new players, general information regarding the game, and, of course, incredible amounts of trash-talk. As an addition, fleets completely executed in German language are planned to follow on a more regular basis, as seen in this forum post.
This, of course, should in no way be understood as an act of self-segregation, but in fact the very opposite.
As the below video articulates, in a vivid example, there are several linguistic barriers effectively zoning people out from participating in a variety of events within the Imperium:
One way Krautschwarm can tackle these obstacles lies in the translation of essential information offered solely in the English language, such as the content of Fireside Chats, to our fellow German speakers. Additionally, the opportunity to participate in fleets organized in the pilots native language offers an improved learning atmosphere and naturally helps the pilots to act more experienced in regular fleets.
In this way, Krautschwarm provides aid to the overall improvement of efficiency on the Alliance-wide level.
Lastly, we want to point out that although the name “Kraut” might cause mixed reactions from several non-german members of the Imperium, let them be assured that this is simply a self-ironic approach to existing German stereotypes.
