FEBRUARY 28—CCP announced today that FanFest 2020 is cancelled. The move comes in response to the continuing spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, and is being taken as a precautionary measure. In the announcement, and accompanying EVE Pulse video CCP Dopamine states:

“[W]e feel absolutely compelled to follow the most responsible course of action and prioritize the safety and well-being of our attendees, our staff and of course the general Icelandic public.

We realize that the situation a month from now could be very different, but the way events are developing both globally and in Iceland’s neighboring countries, an in-depth and serious review has made it clear that this is a necessary step to take.”

More information will be made available as CCP works out the details of what this will mean for existing tickets and other plans.

Anyone who has ever played would tell you that they have made the right choice.

That said I find pretty strange that they don’t even talk about doing some kind of mini streamed fanfest or something, just to put out the information they would have at fanfest.

I am hoping they do something like that, it would be nice to have presentations at least.
