On the most recent o7 show, CCP Fozzie and CCP Larrikin announced a set of upcoming changes to fleet warps. Earlier today, CCP Larrikin released a Dev Blog on the topic. The first and most important difference between the dev blog and the o7 show announcement is timing: due to player feedback, the changes have been pushed back to the August release cycle.
The intended changes limit the things an FC can warp a fleet to; the ability to fleet warp to bookmarks, mission locations, and probe results will be removed. To offset this, mission locations, bookmarks (after a pre-determined delay), and fleet members will be able to be broadcast as a ‘Warp To…’ broadcast, presumably enabling fleet members to warp to the broadcast location themselves.
The stated goals of these changes are to increase individual fleet member participation, make sniper doctrines more viable, and make bombing runs more difficult to execute without reducing their potential deadliness.
As always a new dev blog means a new comment thread where CCP is eager to hear from players.
