On November 30, CCP released the November 2017 episode of their dev-vlog, ‘In Development’.
The vlog covers the additional changes to Alpha Clones that are right around the corner in CCP’s December 5 patch. The free-to-play clone type has seen dramatic adoption since its introduction in November 2016 and helped fuel an increase in new and returning players. Limited to T1 modules until the upcoming patch, the December update will add significant improvements to an Alpha’s arsenal.
“We think we can take things further,” says CCP Falcon in the video update. A higher skill point limit and access to Battlecruisers and Battleships are some of the most significant changes, allowing Alphas a more robust position in fleets and access to high-level incursions, mission running, and more. Improvements to weaponry and defensive fits come with these changes including access to various T2 modules, as well as T1 large weapons. Alphas will also be able to cross-train into different racial ships, which opens up an enormous number of ships that until now were unavailable.
New ‘Kopis Edge’ Gallente ship SKINs were also showcased, and are available now from the New Eden Store, with more SKINs coming to New Eden soon.
In other news, CCP announced a giveaway for Fanfest 2018 ticket holders. CCP also cautioned that few early bird tickets For Fanfest 2018 are left, and reminded everyone to buy their tickets soon to be eligible for the December 11 giveaways; players must purchase their 2018 tickets before 23:59:59 UTC on December 10 to be eligible. On December 11th, CCP will draw 10 winners from the list of ticket holders, who will each receive a prize package of a full refund on their Fanfest 2018 event pass, a Plantronics RIG 600 headset, and 60 days of Omega Clone game time.
