Today, we are announcing Anger Games 5! This year, the Anger Games will be taking place across three weekends once again – May 28-29, as well as June 4-5 and June 11-12.
For AG5, we are planning for matches to take place between 1700 and 2100 EVE and we will provide further details on our stream location, commentary team, and advert submission process in the coming weeks. We have also updated our ruleset for this year, with notable changes including the removal of T2 drones, as well as an altered points structure and a modified ban situation. Now for the details: we are opening signups on February 5 at 1700 EVE. Signups will be open for a total of two weeks, closing on February 19 at 1700 EVE. The process is very similar to last year; signups require a 2500 PLEX entry fee, alongside a team captain/team name entry on the Anger Games discord server.
The process is as follows: Team Captains should join the Official AG Discord server, and then post in the rather obvious #signups channel with their team name and in-game captain character. Additionally, 2500 PLEX needs to be contracted to the in-game character “Anger Games Admin”. This contract does not have to be made by the team captain, but MUST contain the team name in the contract description.
As with last year, we have a total of 32 slots. We will be guaranteeing slots on a first-come, first-in basis for the first 24 teams to fully complete the signup process. After that, teams will be subject to a random lottery, in which all remaining teams will be drawn and given a lottery position. Obviously, if we receive 32 or less signups, all teams in the lottery will have a slot. Should any team have to withdraw from the tournament, we will approach team captains in the order they are drawn from the lottery in order to replace the retired team.
Of course, no tournament would be complete without prizes – so far, we can confirm PLEX and Mordu’s Victory SKINs will be up for grabs! If you would like to support the Anger Games by adding to the prize pool, please reach to Sothrasil on discord (Sothrasil#6478).
One major break from other tournaments in EVE Online that we’re making this year is our development of an Elo rating system for team captains, which we will be using to seed teams in a stratified way. The Elo ratings can be viewed here, but any new team captains will enter with our base Elo of 2000, and be seeded accordingly.
We’re very happy to be bringing the Anger Games back once again – tournaments are a huge part of why we still play EVE, and we’re hoping this can be another incredible event!
