Albion Online is a brand new sandbox MMORPG, and on July 17, 2017 after five years in testing, it finally released.
While the game is geared towards group PvPers, there is more than enough to see and do in Albion Online to keep even those most skeptical of MMORPGs busy for quite some time. Nearly every system in the game is designed around player implementation. There are player-built cities, player-created guilds, and the economy is player-driven. Even character classes are free-form and based around freedom of choice.
A few other things worth noting: The game is available on PC right now, but will be made available for Android and iOS sometime after official release. Also, it’s a buy-to-play MMORPG, meaning that you only need to purchase the game once to play it forever. There are premium options available for purchase, but those simply provide more “premium” benefits to those really into the game.
And there’s the release trailer:
Does that look like the MMORPG for you? Then head over to the Albion Online website and give the game a try. Still not convinced? Keep an eye out for an in depth review of the game coming soon, and don’t forget to check out streams of the game over at the INN twitch channel!
