On December 12 last year, Team TriLambda released a devblog about the devastating news of the passing of CCP Blaze. Blaze worked as a senior software engineer within the audio and graphics team at CCP Iceland.
Six unique skins were released for a week, with all profits from the sale donated to support his fiancee and one-year-old daughter. Players across New Eden brought these skins, ran memorial roams, and showed their generosity for a good cause once again.
Today, CCP Falcon has released a follow-up devblog detailing the fundraising results.
The response was astonishing, unparalleled in the history of fundraisers hosted by CCP, and incredibly humbling.

Between December 12 and December 19, a total of 3,730,320 PLEX was donated via the purchase of the “Blaze” skins, equal to 620 years of in-game time.
This means a donation of $119,828.50 USD to his family.
CCP Falcon expands further on what this means.
To put the numbers into perspective, this is the second largest CCP hosted fundraiser that the EVE Community has contributed to, eclipsing all but one of the PLEX for GOOD drives in just seven days.
It’s honestly not possible for us to find words that would accurately convey the gratitude we feel to our pilots.
Once again, the EVE Community has shown that despite differences in-game, our pilots are a formidable, and indestructible force for good.
From all of us, to all of you, our most sincere thanks for your support.
The only fundraiser that has raised more was the PLEX for Good for the Philippines earthquake and hurricane in 2013, which raised $190,890 USD.
Personally, these fundraisers never fail to impress me. It’s always amazing to see how much love the Eve Online Community has and how much it cares.
