Giveaways, Events and the new Viridian Expansion promise to make this year’s Anniversary celebration one to remember.
20 Days of Rewards for 20 Years
Starting today 2 May and running up until 30 May 2023 is the Capsuleer Day Event, filled with challenges and exclusive rewards for both Alpha and Omega clones alike.
During the event, you can choose to align with one of two available NPC factions. These being the Guri Malakim pirate cooperative, or the Society of Conscious Thought. Having signed on, you will then be able to take on hacking and combat sites available in all areas of space. The sites themselves drop new boosters, Implants and Capsuleer Day SKINs.
Furthermore, there are daily login rewards for both Alpha and Omega clones, including:
- Ships from the Society of Conscious Thought – including the new exploration frigate, the Metamorphosis.
- Up to 12,000 EverMarks
- Up to 510,000 Skill Points
- Capsuleer Day XX SKINs – available only during this Event
- Implants, Boosters and more!
Not to worry! Should you choose to upgrade to Omega during the event, you will be able to retroactively claim the Omega rewards you missed.
Carving Your Name Into History
In celebration of 20 years in space. CCP are expanding the EVE Online monument in Reykjavik. This is a tribute created by CCP to honor all of the dedicated pilots within EVE as part of the celebrations that surrounded EVE’s 10th Anniversary. Currently there are over half a million names on the monument, belonging pilots from across New Eden and this year will be a rare opportunity to have your character’s name added alongside them! To have your character’s name added on to the monument, you just need to make sure you have an active Omega account on the 6 May 2023. It will be the name of the character with the highest amount of skill points on this account that will be carved into the monument.
Those of you who are already one of those lucky enough to be immortalised on the Monument, will be further honored with the prestigious Titan Chevron. Additionally you will have ability to choose which character to use for engraving in case there is a different character you have now, that has more skill points than 10 years ago.
The expanded monument will be unveiled at Fanfest 2023, with all the old tiles on the current monument having been renewed and refreshed. For those who are unable to travel to Reykjavik, you will be able to see your name on the updated web page that allow you to zoom in to the tile containing your name.

Pilots who are brave (or foolish) enough choose to undock in Jita 4-4 on Saturday 6 May 2023 will be treated to a full fireworks display, hosted by CCP Hellmar. The Festivities begin on the 20th Anniversary Livestream on CCP TV, starting at 17:00 UTC with prizes and giveaways. CCP Hellmar will then join the stream at 18:00 to discuss the history of EVE (and maybe let a few things about the Viridian expansion slip), before undocking at 19:00 and beginning the fireworks show, do not forget your sparklers!
Fireworks are Temporary, Corporations are Forever!
Following on from the producer’s letter earlier this year and building on hints dropped at last year’s Fanfest, a new expansion is landing in New Eden. Announced earlier today, EVE Online: Viridian is coming in June 2023 and will open new avenues for corporations to work together.
Included in this expansion is structure customisation, which includes ways of visually upgrading for Upwell Structures with skins and emblems. Finally, a way to spend those accumulated corporation EverMarks, for is a Keepstar truly glorious unless it is bright pink?
Alongside this, further changes have also been announced. Including a much-anticipated expansion of the ship tree towards Tech II Capital Ships and the ability for Corporations to implement a Loyalty Point tax. These changes will greatly benefit Corporations across the cluster since the revamp of Faction Warfare and the introduction of mercenary enlistment.
The Viridian Expansion also promises ways to empower Corporations to work together towards a joint purpose. Leadership within these groups will be able to set parameters and will cover many different playstyles allowing all to contribute to the greater good. Details on this are vague at present but promise to be the building blocks to larger changes to the mechanics further down the line.
A Celebration for Pilots Old and New
At this time there is something for everyone to celebrate as EVE Online passes this momentous milestone and we prepare for the new Viridian Expansion. Everyone that plays EVE came to it for a reason and whether it be family, friends or a solo journey of exploration, each and every one of us found a reason to stay. Community lies at the heart of this game, which continues to grow and change every single day. We remember those that no longer fly with us and continue to light the beacons in their honor. We welcome those who undock for the first time, filled with hope and dreams for their own legacies. The beauty of EVE is those stories, and they live on in each of us as we enter into the third decade of this sandbox of our own creation.
