Triglavian structures erected around Raravoss‘ sun have lowered the Domain system’s security status to 0.3 from 0.6 as EDENCOM forces and Capsuleers fight back in an attempt to regain control of the space. The lower security status means that, while the system is still, technically, a high sec system, CONCORD will not intercede in fights. The fighting has brought hundreds of pilots from around New Eden into Raravoss, including members of the Imperium, TEST Alliance Please Ignore, and Pandemic Horde. Pilots who side with the Triglavians gain standings with the invaders, while siding with EDENCOM gains similar favor with empire forces.
Arataka Research Consortium (ARC) is a research group that has been studying the Triglavian’s activities. Their senior Fleet Commander DutchGunner said that there appears to be several rules of thumb during conflicts with Triglavians. “They are invading systems across New Eden,” he said, “and if a system meets their requirements and they gain the upper hand, it seems that they will start harvesting from the sun.” ARC’s observations, he cautioned, have only been confirmed in Raravoss, but other systems with similar activity include Palmon in Essence, Warouh in Domain, and Keri in Genesis.
“Killing roaming fleets will help push the progress bar (higher) for the group that you are not killing,” he explained. So, killing EDENCOM forces improves the bar for Triglavians, while killing Triglavians improves the bar for EDENCOM. “Clearing EDENCOM sites (supporting Triglavians) will have a bigger effect on the bar’s progress than clearing Triglavian sites (supporting EDENCOM).” He added that roaming fleets that clash with each other seem to have a 50-50 effect on the progress bar. “If no action is taken, it seems that EDENCOM will come out on top at this stage of chapter 3 – because as with chapters one and two, there also seems to be a timer in place that will determine what kind of sites will be available; it’s not just the status of the progress bar.”
The conflict in Raravoss is the latest development stemming from the Triglavian Invasion that began a year ago. CCP released Chapter Three May 26. This latest chapter has the Triglavians attempting to ‘mine’ the suns of selected solar systems to gain access to precious materials.
More Tricks
ARC founder Makoto Prinao said that CCP’s “stepped roll out” seems “messy” but suspects “they have more tricks they’re going to show us in a bit.” He said that “it’s rather too early to tell how this’ll unfold. “My honest guess, based on what little we’ve seen so far, is that some of the invasions aren’t essential to the Triglavian plans. This could serve to fragment EDENCOM supporters’ efforts, allowing knowledgeable pro-Triglavian forces to support Triglavian efforts in key systems. Either way, I expect this is going to go on for a while, and that both EDENCOM and the Collective will win their share.”
