Fanfest 2017 is slated to kick off tomorrow and as always promises three days full of player presentations, keynotes, roundtables, partying, and roleplay through the Kyonoke Inquest. This fanfest also marks the 20 years of CCP being in business.

CCP has set up a live roleplay event that will have consequences on lore in New Eden. The Kyonoke Inquest lets attendees pick one of the four empires to cast their vote tokens for as well as propose their own solutions to the Kyonoke plague.

Thursday

Day one starts with the doubles PvP tournament. The format is not yet announced, but 32 teams of 2 players each will face off on Duality. As always, Fanfest will be streamed by CCP on their Twitch channel. The stream starts at 1500 and will cover both the welcome ceremony and Eve Online Keynote. The Keynote is a traditionally presented by the Executive Producer and is usually a must-watch. Not streamed is the charity dinner later that night.

The full schedule of what will be streamed can be found below:

Official CCP Stream Schedule

Friday

Friday is a full day of developer presentations. While the stream will only cover select developer presentations, there are a number of player and developer presentations that will be happening in other rooms. At 1100, the game balance presentation kicks off immediately followed by the game design panel. At 1300 astrophysicist Dr. Michael Mayor will talk on the future of Project Discovery and how science can crowdfund the search for exoplanets. After this, there will be a review of what Project Discovery has accomplished so far for the Human Protein Atlas and Cell Atlas.

At 1500 there will be a presentation on graphics. 1600 is slated to be the presentation on Upwell Structures and the phasing out of outposts and player owned starbases. Finally, 1700 is the presentation on Phenomenal PvE, the new AI system for NPCs. This is currently implemented in part in Drifters and NPC mining operations. As part of the new AI, they respond to player behavior through a standing system, bring EWAR and logistics, and are able to warp off and call for assistance.

Saturday

Saturday starts New Player Experience presentation by CCP Ghost. CCP made big changes to the NPE with the Ascension expansion bringing in alpha players. They also fully reworked the tutorial to be more dynamic and added rewards such as mini skill-injectors to the game. At 1200 is a presentation on the Art of Eve by Team TriLambda.

Eve Valkyrie Roadmap will be at 1300. Valkyrie was first demo’d at Fanfest 2013 and has since come out for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR. An artist will be drawing live concept art for the audience at 1400. At 1445 and 1615 there will be developer and player question/answer sessions. 1530 is the first streamed player presentation on dirty secrets of trillionaires in Eve. After this at 1645 is a presentation by Eve_NT team on tournaments, competitive PvP leagues, and esports.

Like Friday, Saturday will also have a number of presentations occuring off camera. So if you’re at Fanfest, make sure to check out the full schedule for Saturday.

I started Eve over 3 years ago and have tried just about everything. In-game I enjoy multiboxing ewar and flying (h)interdictors.
