I’m here to talk to you about the player event known as EVE Dublin.
EVE Dublin was first set up back in August 2015. The first event saw 40 players attend, this was made possible by a player named Joseph Barnacle O’Sullivan. He had decided to set up an Irish player meet because he’d seen so many other people at player meets in different countries. Wondering why there wasn’t one in Ireland, he took it upon himself to set up the event to give the Irish player base their very own player meet in the heart of Dublin city.
After the success of the first ever official player meet in Ireland, the planning for 2016 began. There was not just 1, but 4 events over the course of the year, one of those meets taking part in Belfast city. A survey for feedback was conducted at each event about the format, dates, location and so on. After reviewing the feedback, the decision was made that the 2017 event would become a 2-day meet so that the event could cater to people travelling from not just Ireland, but from within the EU and further afield.
Now with that history lesson out of the way, I would like to extend an open invitation for all the Eve community to come partake in all the wonderful things Ireland has to offer, be it our breath taking views, historical landmarks, myths and legends, irresistibly delicious food, enchanting music, or enjoying our vibrant nightlife.
