A Memorable Fleet
On July 29th, a ping came across the Goonswarm Federation from Asher Elias. The ping read “A very important fleet.” By the hundreds, Goonswarm pilots answered the call. A star-studded cast of participants joined, including Jay Amazingness, Brisc Rubal, The Mittani, as well as many other high level directors in Goonswarm Federation. At first glance, it appeared to be a very important fleet indeed. The mission: humanitarian aid to give a floundering PAPI the skills they needed to finish the war.
In order to achieve this noble goal, Asher Elias spent some time on Pyfa to come up with the perfect fleet: T1 Industrials. Their precious cargo: the ever elusive leadership skills for PAPI. After all the pilots managed to fit their industrial ships, several hundred Badgers, among other haulers, burned towards T5ZI-S. At approximately 02:50 EVE time they jumped into T5ZI-S and a battle ensued.
The Battle
PAPI’s T5ZI-S gatecamp was quickly dispersed by the Imperium’s Industrial fleet. For a few moments, the Imperium managed to successfully clear the gate of hostiles. However, PAPI formed a couple fleets to stop the aid. Pandemic Horde and Pandemic Legion formed Jackdaws to stop the Imperium from its mission. A battle report shows PAPI killed 4.4 billion ISK for a loss of 2.4 billion ISK. PAPI managed to secure a near 2:1 ratio to win the ISK war.
Notable losses in this battle include a Goonswarm Federation Apocalypse Navy Issue Battleship, a TEST Alliance Please Ignore Scorpion Battleship and a Pandemic Horde Broadsword Heavy Interdictor.
While PAPI won the ISK war, the outnumbered and outgunned Imperium succeeded in its objective. About a hundred Leadership skillbooks were successfully delivered to PAPI in their time of need.
