The 19B ISK Supercap Parking Ticket

The former owner of an unfortunately parked Aeon said they don’t know how it ended up outside its protective forcefield in Aridia, just far enough outside for a roaming Goonswarm Federation pilot to sneak inside and hijack the supercarrier.

P0lly Perkins, director of The Chronicles, said they woke up to a message about the purloined craft. It was valued at about 19 billion ISK, according to Evepraisal.

“I think I left it under POS field and was busy with other things,” Perkins said, referring to the invulnerability field surrounding a player-owned station. “I don’t know how it flew away.”

The heist happened by chance. Jacob Mclaren of Tritanium Industries and Technology (.TIT) took out his Christmas gift, a heavy assault cruiser Deimos, looking for a fight.

“I don’t think I have ever solo PVP’ed before, hence why I’m wandering around Aridia, ‘a dead region,'” Mclaren said. “I was going to go to a high-sec island to maybe run a few rogue drone sites, then turned around when I ran one and it was cancer.”

He then warped into the low-sec Yehaba system and saw the Aeon on his directional scanner.

“You always hear about POSes that are offlined or whatever,” Mclaren said. “So I warped to a few moons and found it. I may have said some profanities on comms when I found the thing.”

Inside the super-capital ship, Mclaren said he found one of Eve’s great in-jokes: a Capital Parking Ticket. With the help of his corporation, he managed to sneak it back into friendly space using cynosural fields.

Perkins said they bought the Aeon from Goonswarm Federation a year or two ago and has already replaced the loss. When reached by Imperium News Network, Perkins didn’t have many words for Mclaren.

“Nothing to say,” Perkins said. “He (followed) after me to every system and told me how I’m bad. I remember him ;-).”

After Mclaren jumped to a safe station and retrieved his abandoned Deimos, .TIT placed a Raitaru within sight of the POS. The Chronicles destroyed the station, aptly named “FREE AEON BEST AEON,” before it could go online.

I write things for a living, so why not write things about internet spaceships?
