There have been some that have claimed that dread bombs are no longer effective with FAX proliferation. Well it seems that Darwinism, Snuffed Out and Initiative did not get the memo.
In the very early hours of 2018-11-04 a trap was sprung.
It was Darwinism who laid the foundations for the trap. They engaged NCdot in the home system of NC in M-OEE8 in the region of Tribute. In short order the NCdot members responded to the aggression from Darwinism with seven super capitals. That was enough meat on the table for the dread bombs of Darwinism, Snuffed Out and Initiative to login and undock. Calls were also made for pilots to insure their dreads and carriers, as this was planned to be a one way trip.
Time is of the essence with such operations. Many things need to go exactly right when executing such a plan. This was one of those occasions that everything came together for the attacking forces.
Local count was around 200 when NC made the mistake of jumping in titans with very little FAX support. The glee from Darwinism comms would be hard to miss as the Erebus class titans landed on grid.
Two Erebus from NCdot were quickly dispatched. The loss of the NCdot titans seemed to spur NCdot into action at an even quicker pace. NCdot fully committed to the battle, dropping a considerable capital response.
The forces from Darwinism, Snuffed Out and Initiative then made the call to get as much out as they could. They also shot the wrecks of the destroyed titans and supers to deny NCdot. One final Erebus from NCdot would die as siege cycles from the dreads came to an end. As the attacking forces left, local was at around 274.
Darwinism, Snuffed Out, and Initiative lost 195 billion versus the 473 billion loss for NCdot. A full battle report can be found here. In total, NCdot lost three Erebus titans and three Nyx supercarriers.

At the end of the video from Darwinism you can clearly hear that the reason this trap was sprung now is that TEST are expected to announce a deployment on 2018-11-04, which is expected to draw NCdot from their home region.

All in all, you have to admit that this was a well-planned and executed trap from Darwinism, Snuffed Out and Initiative, especially, as a fair chunk of their dread bomb group actually made it out alive. NCdot continues on a streak of losses and you have to wonder when they will be able to pull out a win. Brave, TEST and even Provi are not going to be the easy targets that they have been in the past. For NCdot to even consider deploying too far from the north is unlikely. NCdot also knows that there is a large dread cache still available to their enemies in the north.
