In an impromptu coalition update in the evening of Sunday August 5, Northern Coalition(dot) Campaign Commander Killah Bee said he expects The Imperium will destroy the Keepstar in X47L-Q on August 8.
The north has been reeling in recent weeks with the attackers’ advances. They’ve lost citadels and sovereignty timers, and allowed Northern Coalition’s staging Keepstar to come within one massive battle of being destroyed.
“We’re a little bit on the back foot at the moment. We have the big, fat Keepstar timer coming up on Wednesday, which I’m sure all of you are forming for and getting excited for,” Killah Bee said, according to a covert recording of his coalition’s communications. “It will die. That’s pretty much a certainty, but we’re going to get another fight out of it and make it as costly for them as possible to kill it.”
He also noted the difficulty in fighting fleets from The Imperium and Legacy coalitions, and ultimately decided to pull punches in southern Fade as the attackers destroyed infrastructure hubs, an act that will prevent cynosaural jammers from being anchored.
“For now, we just have to play very carefully, like today. We’re far from done. This war, in my books, is just starting,” he said.
The north did send fleets to aggress Imperium hackers on Sunday, but found themselves on the wrong side of capable titan and subcap pilots while losing nearly 500 ships valued at more than 66 billion ISK.
“This war was never going to be without losses for our side. It’s just something you have to keep in mind,” said Killah Bee, who the Imperium has jokingly renamed Killah Flee after he gave the order to withdraw faction titans for fear of tarnishing the coalition’s killboard. “There’s no war where you just win when you fight someone real like Goons. Goons are incredibly strong at the moment.”
Goonswarm Federation Fleet Commander Apple Pear said his coalition had a great Sunday fighting the north.
“We killed four ihubs, had some nice fights and in general had fun. One of the big ihubs we killed is 7X-VKB, where a Keepstar of Darkness is, unless they transferred it to a other alliance. They do that a lot,” Apple Pear said. “I hope we have a great fight Wednesday again, and I can understand him preparing his members for a Keepstar loss. It would be very hard to save that one.”
