CCP Weekly Wrap Up – February 8-15 2021

Looks like after a month of not doing much CCP has come out of the gate swinging. Lots of stuff to get to this week so here we go:

Reign – New Quadrant Begins

A new Quadrant began on February 9th – Reign. The quadrant is based around fleeting up and making that more fun for everyone. Changes are still to come; however, it seems clear that ships can be made to warp in formations. Details remain to be seen though, so we’ll have to see whether this feature will have any actual tactical function behind it, which the FC in me doubts. It’s cool looking though, so CCP can have a golf clap.

Guardian’s Gala

The Guardian’s Gala will be going on until February 23rd, which means skill points, SKINs, daily log-in gifts. Some pretty cool ones are available for Serpentis and Domination ships, so make sure to get online to grab those if you want them.

Heartsurge SKINs back

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Heartsurge SKIN collection has returned to the New Eden Store. Several ships are available with the pink aesthetic, including: Confessor, Cynabal, Daredevil, Dramiel, Eagle, Hecate, Ishtar, Machariel, Vagabond, Vigilant, Vindicator, and the Zealot. If you purchase 30 days of Omega, you get the Jackdaw SKIN for free, and you can attain the Svipul SKIN if you purchase 500 PLEX. These SKINs are available until the 23rd, so grab them up while they’re on offer.

Abyssal Proving Grounds – 2v2 T1 Cruisers

As with many Abyssal Proving Grounds events, CCP likes to end them just as we’re going to print. If you see this in time, a 2v2 T1 Cruiser event has been taking place which will run until the 16th. In honor of the Guardian’s Gala, Stasis Webifiers are 50% more effective in the matches. Permitted hulls are the Arbitrator, Blackbird, Bellicose, Caracal, Celestis, Maller, Moa, Omen, Rupture, Stabber, Thorax, and Vexor. As usual, modules are limited to Meta 5 and below, and there are no pirate implants.

CCP Ran A Spectre Fleet (NPSI)

On Saturday February 13th, CCP ran a public, Not-Purple-Shoot-It (NPSI, or Spectre) fleet which they streamed live over on their Twitch. The fleet was in celebration of the new Fleet Up tool improvements being implemented in the new quadrant. Check on the VOD here.
