CCP released its latest patch on June 15, bringing a variety of new ships, module changes and events to the table.
Events, Exploration & Implants
The ‘Lightning Strike’ event runs until June 29. Look for Upwell Covert Research Facilities in lowsec and parts of nullsec. These sites have been destroyed by Rogue Drones, and offer fights and Upwell tech from the wreckage. “Each event site offers the chance of spawning a rare escalation that can be investigated for additional rewards,” including “manufacturing and invention materials, Skill Books, and more related to the new EDENCOM ship line, which have been built exclusively for them by Upwell to aid in the fight against the Triglavian Collective.”
Project Discovery has been updated to aid in the fight against COVID-19. “You are invited to join the growing ranks of Capsuleers who have contributed to real world science through a mini-game within EVE Online, the results of which will assist in the understanding of how our bodies react to pathogens. The newest iteration of Project Discovery allows you to analyze data produced by flow cytometers. Using a tracing tool, you will draw polygons around clusters of cells. In doing so, you will participate in analyzing COVID-19 data, as well as other related flow cytometry charts, which will help scientists understand better how our immune systems are impacted by this novel coronavirus.”
The Hydra Implant set has been added to the Loyalty Points (LP) Store and NPC loot drops.
New Weapons & Ammo
Over the past few weeks, skillbooks for a new weapon and ships have been available as daily login rewards. The patch extends this with the addition of the Vorton Projector weapon, exclusive to the new EDENCOM ship line. “Similar to its progenitor, the Arcing Vorton Projector, this weapon will project an immense burst of energy that strikes multiple targets.”

Module Changes
A wide variety of changes have been made to modules – renaming, upgrading and migrating. “All market orders for the affected modules will be removed, the modules and escrow will be returned to the character who created the order.” CCP will “convert every module of one type into modules of another type, everywhere in the database. This includes modules currently fit to ships and modules in containers or contracts.”
A long list of shield amplifier modules have also had their attributes changed.
Ships
The patch also introduces the new EDENCOM ships. The Upwell commissioned designs include “radical new weaponry” and require 12 new skills to master.
