CO2 State Of The Alliance: GigX Returns (Again)?

2018-11-06

On November 4, Circle of Two held a SOTA meeting to announce their plans for the future. GigX, present on his alliance’s voice comms platform, discussed the unannounced reset of CO2 by Northern Coalition(dot), his struggles with CCP Team Security, the continuing struggle to find allies and sovereignty space for themselves, and a new war they will be waging in the very near future.

GigX stated that their alliance is slowly dying from attrition in The Kalevala Expanse, and as such will be moving to Venal, beginning with Muninns and an undisclosed “Tech 3 Doctrine”. Additionally, they will be performing a mass reset of almost all alliances save Pandemic Horde and Black Legion. Their new war will focus on Darkness and Dead Coalition, with the aim being for CO2 to secure new sov space for themselves in Branch – specifically the 304-QS constellation initially.

One interesting note was that Circle Of Two’s warchest is lacklustre at best, and this could be their last campaign as a result – GigX mentioned that if they are unsuccessful in gaining new sov, the alliance wallet will likely run out and they will be forced to disband their alliance. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, GigX is hesitant to deploy any form of capital support for his forces, intending to leave them behind in Kalevala for the foreseeable future.

A snippet of the SOTA recording was posted to reddit almost immediately after the SOTA finished. In the recording, GigX addressed the issue of his bans and CCP’s Team Security: “Well you know the situation between me and CCP, and it’s just a matter of time before they start chasing –  I mean, continue chasing my accounts, which I don’t give a shit what they going to do”. This is clearly an addmission by GigX that he is still playing the game in violation of his perma-ban, and the author of the reddit post (Goonswarm Black Hand member Hyprviper) questions whether the people continuing to enable GigX to play should be punished.

INN reached out to Circle Of Two’s head diplomat and  spokesperson Da Winci for comment on the recording, and received this response regarding GigX’s comments on Team Security: “I suggest you let it go. You guys and girls have a weird Serbian fetish. You can quote me on that.”

We will of course keep a close eye on how the situation with CO2 develops moving forward, bringing you any updates as they occur.

The first part of 2018 and Co2 were back, despite the permanent ban to their leader Gigx by CCP. They were offered a home by NC in the region of Vale of the Silent. In no time at all Gigx from Co2 advised that Co2 were on the move and were going to live in Fade. He also stressed that this was all his own planning and nothing to do with Pandemic Horde moving over to Geminate. Do remember that the north were claiming to retain strong bonds between all their members, of which Co2 was included. Oh and we should also not forget the numerous times that Gigx claimed that his alliance would fight against all odds, until the bitter end.

Roll on a few more months and we saw Co2 not be effective in the defence of the north at all. Out of all of the northern entities I watched during Big Bill’s Campaign, Co2 were the least concern. Rarely would their stager exceed 100 Co2 members. If they chose to undock it would frequently be very cheap doctrines.

Once the defence of the northern allies collapsed Co2 were on the move again. In fact quite a bit more. First they took up an offer to reside in Brothers of Tangra space to the east. But this did not sit well with some and before long Co2 were on the move again. This time into the loving arms of PH. Now we see them on the move again and this time to Venal. Every time an alliance relocates it will suffer some stresses. This seems to be reflected in the membership numbers of Co2, which has fallen to around 1700. This is down from over 4k members just back in June.

With Gigx now saying that it is “Branch or death” I would opine that things are not looking good for Co2 members. Gigx has a history of not coming through with the goods when making statements about what Co2 can and are going to do.

Making a prediction as to how the north will pan out is not an easy thing to do at this time. But one thing that I can say with certainty is that it will not be Gigx’s fault, at least in his mind.

You say that but you do not pick any point as being wrong. Every point I made can be easily checked on Zkill, Dotlan or Reddit.

I think the permaban was excessive (and, yeah, I realize GigX was soliciting real-life personal info and all that – I get it). But it is what it is, and he’s going to have to accept it and move on. Co2 existed before GigX, and the best thing he can do for the community at this point is to step aside.

So far from what he has said it sounds like he is just continuing to create new accounts to avoid the ban. I don’t see how you could ban someone else because he created a new account. As long as he pays for his new character and plex’s his way back to where he was its all on him.

  • it’s so sad we have an alliance like goons that keep popping up content in the game they have become too big see what has happened on the chinese server because an alliance can control it all it kills both the game and the fun one has to be different alliances ..
Leadership in Goons may not be so stupid they can not see this problem on the long run ???
because whose goons will continue their power race, the game will die simplehen eventually, already more people know who stopped playing just because of this problem in the end because it ends with everything being blue in Null and so there is only room for carebears in the game how cool is that ????
it’s not a game i like to play if you can not resist without goons standing there with 3000 men fleet every time others stand with 100 man fed content ..
Seems personal Goons really have to think about before joining Co2 Co2 because it will not only cost Co2 life if the dispatch of the alliance is successful but also many players will let go of the game they do not want to be part of goons because they like the togetherness they have to enjoy themselves with the game as the goons feel so threatened by the willing to destroy any opposition and content in the game …

The ball is where I have to ask if goon’s morale is betrayed so they are willing to destroy the fun in the game when people end up leaving the game if they continue the witch hunt there are already too many who are ripped off eve thinks goons themselves smart what they do ?????

because if you think about how to go on Chinese servers, people stop playing is what goons want ???

      Oh please dear cry baby.

PL and friends once upon a time had so much power and instead of using that power to molest Goonswarm they burned every house down they could find just because they knew it made their killboard green.

Instead of forging a real war machine to go toe to toe against Goonswarm they opted to hide from them and trashtalk years about pussy goons affraid to use supers and capitals.

Meanwhile PL and friends kept burning down potential war buddy’s who would without a doubt enjoy burning down Goons to but instead were slaughtred by PL and friends.

Then the Casino War happened and Goons faced a unfair battle, not due to overwhelming numbers but due to illigal casino isk.

After that what remained of Imperium took Delve and instead of keeping up the pressure PL and friends started to attack Test Alliance.

And ello and behold who are bestest friends again in the biggest capital war Eve had seen ?

yeah so before you blame Imperium go cry to PL and friends who themselves have killed of any potential ally’s across a decade of devestating attacks on weaker entity’s.

Now people cry…..they cry so hard that Goons won the game and all the drama they are causing…

I say its perfect revenge and the real weaksauce is PL and their friends for letting it all happen when they still had the muscle.

Here have a tissue and goodluck.

“We are not here to ruin the game, we are here to ruin your game.” – Goons

In this do not forget that NCdot is the Band of Brothers of old. BoB were only too vocal in what they desired for Eve and it was the same model as befell the Chinese server.

During the Casino War the Goons had their empire destroyed. Some could even argue that CCP were at times more than helpful in trying to destroy the Goons as well. Just remember the IWI banker ban that was over turned by a high level CCP exec.

The Goons simply built a new empire and then took it to war. It was at this point that “New BoB” simply realised that their ruse was up. No longer would the threat of a capital deployment from New BoB be quite as intimidating as it once was. We are currently seeing movement from players within nullsec groups that we have not seen in a long time.

There is a lot of nonsense being spoken about what a player will do when their group is beaten in the game. The reality though is that more often than not the player will simply find a new group to play with.

When Co2 first disbanded all their players did not just vanish from the game. The former Co2 players simply joined different groups. At that time it was MoA and Test who got a lot of Co2 members. Then MoA died and all their players went mainly to GotG. Then Co2 came back with the now banned Gigx and setup again. Let’s be honest here, CCP do not even want Gigx to play the game and yet Gigx is expending a lot of energy on ban evading. So I am calling you out when you say “once a player is beaten they will leave the game” for the silliness that it is.
